[IMG] So I'm playing as a solo monk, and against Kangaxx, every time I get the darn guy down to "badly injured", he runs away in fear, which causes him to regenerate back up to "barely injured" before he goes normal again! Is there any item, usable by a monk, that would allow me to cast remove fear on the poor guy? Any other suggestions??? This is driving me crazy!

I don't think you can cast remove fear on enemies. You might want to try positioning your monk on that bridge to the coffin so he can't escape? I've never seen him run in fear before, so I'm not sure.

I tried the bridge thing, but he still manages to slip away!

I guess I'll just have to do the whole friggen planar sphere quest to get the Ring of Ram so that I can maybe get him down to badly injured then just blast him with it and hope its enough... :(

Haha this is rather funny, the mighty and o so scary Kangaxx the Demilich running away with fear?

You may try to edit his CRE file via a game editor, to make him immune to morale failure. Just edit the breaking point, I think.

I've never had him run in fear, so this sounds odd to me.

What mods (if any) do you have installed?

I've had him run a few times, though it was never really an issue, I had most of my party hastened (or with boots of speed) and threw a few Minute Meteors and managed to do more damage than he could regenerate...I guess both options are cut off as a solo monk :( . Since its a fairly small area I would suggest blocking him in with summons; something like a wand of monster summoning should do the trick as his AI is disabled whilst scared.

I beat the sissy!!! I got the ring of the ram, just killing valygar and giving his body to the cowled guy (I took a rep hit and missed some XP and items but oh well...) I then got my strength up to 24 (storm giant potion) which allowed me to damage him a little bit faster, then when he was down to "near death" I sent him to oblivion by the ring of the ram.

So much for the scared-y cat demi-lich :D

Wow. You actually gave the body to the cowled wizards? You could have used the body to get into the planar sphere yourself -- now that quest is no longer available to you.

I didn't know Monks could use the STR potions. Neat!

Hehe, well, truth be told I knew that I didn't really want any of the gear in the planar sphere other than the ring of the ram, and the cowled guy gives you the ring for giving him the body, so I had no good reason to do the quest, and I really just wanted to hurry up and kill kangaxx without having to do the whole quest. You get like 20k xp and lose a rep point. My monk was lawful good, but I just justified it by deciding that he stupidly (he has low int) thought that the cowled wizards were a real government body, and plus it would be good to get their favor so maybe they'd give hints about Immy. My monk just thought that valygar was lying when he tried to tell me that the wizards were the true evil... so that's my silly RP justification for my impatient powergaming :p

I always wondered what would happen if you gave his body to the cowled.
