Do I need both the HoW (v1.41) AND IWD (v1.06) patches, or only one of them?

    Any recommended mods/tweaks/fixes, ect.?

    TIA

    Just one.

There's not really a lot. I'd start with my own IWD Tweaks--it's based on BG2 Tweaks and features a mini-fixpack as one of the components.

Another popular IWD mod is Auril's Bane but, tbh, I've never played it so I can't recommend/damn it.

The Widescreen tool may also be of interest, as it will allow you to play IWD at a higher resolution.

If you go for one or more of these, use the install order of patch > Widescreen > Auril's Bane > Tweaks.

    Thanks a lot, CD!

The descriptions of the patches on this site aren't clear on whether you need both or not, so I really appreciate the input.

... and soon enough, there'll be IWD NPCs, too. :)

TOLM is the final patch so you don't need any.

As with all Infinity Engine games, the expansion already contains all the previous patches, so you only need the expansion patch if you have any expansion installed. And if you buy any of the newer compilations, there's a good chance that they are already pre-patched.

Auril's Bane is quite good. But some of the spells in there might be a bit annoying. And so are a few items. Too overpowering.

You can also try my mod, but you won't be able to install IWD Tweaks if you do.:)
