Unfortunately school's out, so one of the two is down. Concentrating on work would be a terrible thing to do... I mostly clean toilets

I don't think I want to concentrate too much on that image. Perhaps sports? I find training takes my mind off many things and makes me feel good too. Plus with a fitter body, there's a better chance that when you do find someone you like, she'll quickly notice you! ;)

Something very strange happened yesterday, I called the girl - Stephanie - since well, we both had the day off work. She seemed interested on the phone, though apparently some guy had called her before. Despite the fact she told me that guy was getting on her nerves, she still invited him - why I haven't the sightless idea. She also invited a friend of her, meh.

So the first hour or so, with her, the guy and her friend was relatively ok. Until Stephanie ''decided'' it was boring, that the sangria wasn't good and other whining of the sort - major meh! She then promptly said she was going home and the guy who's been more or less stalking her obviously followed. So, the only one left were her friend and me. Surprisingly Gabrielle and I - Stepahnie's friend - had more in common that I had thought, and we ended up walking with no particular destination talking about history, literature, movies, politics for at least two hour and then we went eating in a restaurant.

Suffice to say I'm puzzled by this, I didn't expected at all this turn of events - and I must say I preferred the latter part.

Strange day! And I'm confused - what to do? why? what the hell just happened yesterday?

Did I mentioned Gabrielle has red hair? :p

What is there to be confused about? That looked like a setup to me.

I echo BTA's POV. What better way to get rid of someone than a setup?

As for me? My ex dropped by to 'apologize' for calling me an a**hole. Said she needed a big argument to pop her little sister's pink soap bubble infautuation with me, and that making me look like a total SOB was the way to go.

Double-barrel gun salute. You know where the door is.

[IMG] I have never understood why peopel get so possessive of their exes. It seems just completely ridiculous, you split up with them for a reason, sure. But no need to get vindictive.

I've dated one of my best friends exes, and most of my friends stay good friends with people they've been out with. I still consider mine very good friends and they still mean a lot to me.

Also the stigma about dating friends. If you can't be friends with someone you're going out with, what's the point? i'm of the view that if you don't try, you'll never know and if things don't work I can go back to friendship as long as they want to as well.

With my previous bf I even got the whole "let's just be friends" talk in public  he was rather surprised when I gave him a hug and said it was fine, we were chatting over MSN and phone like nothing had happened soon after. PLUS I got my friends taking me shopping and sympathy hugs. Rock on!

But yeah I'm still in relationship bliss atm so no worries for me for a while!

That's pretty much what I do. I usually play an hour or so of basketball a day and run at least a mile. When I'm particularly down about anything I just do more of those and it clears my mind. The problem is that I'm in very good physical condition right now, but it's only bound to get worse since I don't really have access to a lifting facility anymore... bleh.

I really don't belong in this thread at this point, I'm off topic kinda now.

Back on, lol... I'll definitely echo what BTA said (to go with DotW), if it looks like a rat, and smells like a rat, then by golly, it's a rat!

8people, I've never understood that friends stigma stuff either, but most of my peers don't really have that problem. If they're really good friends, they usually don't date though because (1) they don't want to botch the friendship if it goes wrong (this annoys me to no end) or (2) they think that since they can hang out a bunch there's no way they could actually be attracted to each other, which always leaves me

Meh, I do not want her sister anyway. No teenage drama for me and no raging ball of hormones either. Oh, and did I mentioned she's actually 17? *shivers*

    [IMG]

I never got girls who looked for guys years older than themselves. Being in an all girls school most of them believed they were superior to males the same age on a maturity level. Perhaps so for some of them, but a couple aspired to date people in late twenties/early thirties.

It's usually only after some guy has played his cards right and been going out for a week when the girl realises what a childish fool she is and slinks off

Sod that, I'm as daft as they come and I know it, I'll stick to an age gap of months, I fit my age pretty well from a guy point of view

About two years (+or-) is what I tend to use as a range (as a guy of course :D) but any greater difference could be accommodated if the person was right.

If the personalities match it doesn't matter if they are 18 or 48.

+5/-5 is the range I'm comfortable with. No problems with a 19 year old (though I prefer above 21), but 18 years old just won't do.

And it's not a relationship her kid sister wants with me, nuh-huh.

You've hit the nail dead straight on the head, Marty. You know, if she wasn't underage, it would almost be worth going for, just to see the look on my ex's face... not to mention some payback would be sweet - I haven't forgot how she made me look like a SOB. Realistically, though, it won't happen. I want nothing more to do with my ex and anything relating to her.

*shrugs* Alright, enough of that. Moving on, moving on.

You said she was 17 right? That's legal were you live isn't it? [snip]

Looks like the Big Red Machine censored ya, Marty.

I once again bumped into my ex today. She once again tried to apologize, I flipped her off again. I swear, you could hear that F*** you anywhere in the freaking mall.

I liked Martaug's post, couldn't have said it better myself... Of course I'd probably never say anything to that effect either. Probably a good call on censoring by Tal.
