My wife just went out bought us a Wii console and Wii Fit. I almost did not pick one up but after trying it out at my mother in-laws I decided I need something to help me continue my exercise once winter hits.

I was surprised to find both locally and didn't have to overspend or pay for any crazy shipping charges. Thank you Walmart and Game Stop.

Does anyone here have the Wii Fit or a Wii for that matter? If you have a Wii what do you recommend for games, etc... and if you have a Wii fit, do you think it actually works? I know it will for my FAT BUTT.

I've got a wii, but not wii fit, though I can't think of much beyond the obvious to recommend for the wii really. Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Kart, Super Smash Brother Brawl, Super Paper Mario and Metroid Prime 3 are all great but beyond that? Zack and Wiki maybe? Not played it yet but it's meant to be good. Oh and wii sports and wii play are alright, though they're a given.

We purchased Mario Kart; last night when I was looking for a Wii console my 3 year little girl started playing Mario Kart at Best Buy; she had a blast and seeing her enjoy herself made me decide that when and if I get a Wii that game would be included. To my luck, Walmart had a Wii Fit and Game Stop had a Wii both received this morning/last night. So out my wife went and purchased the Wii, Wii Fit, Mario Kart and an extra control. Now all we have to do is find the stand / charger, battery packs, and controler covers kit.

My mother-in-law owns the outdoor game, but has yet to open it... I'm hoping I can convince her to gift that to me for my birthday as it is around the corner. :)

Tonight I start my Wii Fit weight lost plan. I plan to use the jogging/running activity 2 or 3 times an evening 5 times a week. In addition I plan on doing one or two additional Wii Fit activities every night. That is ontop of the 20-30 minute walk I have with my beagle every monrning.

We just gave our son a Wii for his birthday (yesterday). We plan on getting Wii Fit for Christmas. So far it's been a blast.

    The games that we got:

Super Smash Bros. (fighting game with Ninendo universe characters).
Super Mario Galaxy (I haven't played it yet)
Mario Party 8 (great for kids)
Super Mario Sluggers (haven't played it yet).

Good luck with the Wii Fit and your weight loss. I hope it works out well for you.

I'm using the wii sports and the beach game to help my diet and it seems to be working. Me and my fella play together on it and it's a great laugh...you don't reallise that you're actually excercising half the time

Definitely get Mario Kart. Great fun.

As for the Wii fit... get 5 or 6 people together, have a few drinks, and you will have SO much fun. We had a "Wii party" a few months ago and most of us couldn't talk the next day from laughing so hard.

Good luck with finding the Wii fit during Xmass season; it is the #1 selling video game right now. Most stores sell out of the Wii Fit within minutes of putting it on the shelf. I had to call and make a request for the game to be held. The employee wasn't going to hold it for me but I informed him that my wife was on her way there to pick it up...blah...blah...blah...

Basically you have to be lucky and show up to the store early in the morning and hope they have one on hand.

You are right Tal but the seller want $30+ more than the actual cost of the Wii Fit or the Wii for that matter. Walmart online has a package deal for $519 that contains the Wii, an extra controller with the side controller, 2 games, 2 accessories, and the Wii Fit. If you select high price accessories the price of the package will go up; the package I almost order was going to cost me around $549. I recommend checking locally first and than using online resources last as most places are over charging for the Wii and Wii fit.

Well, if it was easy to get, people wouldn't pay a bit more not to have to hunt around for it. 30 bucks extra isn't exactly earth-shattering in this case.

To each there own. I prefer not paying extra when there is no real need too, though if someone really wants something $30 more isn't that bad if the item is hard to get.

Any way, I opened up the Wii Fit boxing workout and love it. I hope my 45 minutes of working out on the Fit actually helps me loose a few pounds.
