I have a slight hangover this morning as I went out for a drink last night with the ball & chain and had 1 or 5 pints too many. I just nipped to the sandwich shop and got a mammoth breakfast cob. Bacon, cooked to perfection. Sausage, heavenly. Egg, runny yokey goodness. Brown sauce, the pearl on the crown to top it off.

It was immense. I'm not even joking. It felt like there was an orgy in my mouth.. and everyone's invited! I now feel like I could take on the world!

Please pay due homage to, 'The Breakfast Cob'.

    Yum.

Of course I can't be sure but I gather that this is about english breakfast.

Or indeed an orgy, in which the brown sauce is something completely else.

But if this is about the breakfast, I concur, you can't go wrong with a heartstopping elngilsh one. Brown hash, fried potateos, beans, bacon, the sausages, eggs and all. Lovely. Truly magnificent. One of the greatest gift british commonwealth has provided for the humankind. Should deserve a prize of some sort.

And a breakfast cob seems to be the sandwich version of it.

I'd rather have bacon, egg, toast and toasted tomato. Sausage for breakfast makes me horrible ill.

A breakfast cob is basically an English breakfast in a bread roll... bap.. cob.. thing. Whatever you want to call it! It's sexual though! Brown sauce is the Don. And it's NOT BBQ sauce! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hp_sauce

I'd thought it said this thread was in honor of "The Breakfast CLUB," for which I got all excited. "Show Dick some respect!"

But it's just another funny Limey talk thread. Oh well. :)

Never could get the hang of English breakfast. I like my breakfast light. I'm more of a big lunch and massive dinner person.

That reminds me that I saw a show on the cooking channel two nights ago about what goes into most basic sausages. I think the standard is about 32% meat and 90% of what they refer to as the "meat portion" is fat and gristle. Basically skin and cartilage and other misc. organs. I probably wouldn't have the same enthusiasm for the breakfast cob as Barmy has. I think I'll stick to egg, bacon, and cheese on an english muffin, for my extravagant breakfast. And that I will have made by my own self.
