    Mord, for all you know, he was just checking that she was alright. You seem to think he looked at her and went "Awesome, I needed a new punchbag!"

    Hahahah, what the hell? So it's OK for the police to kill you if you're walking too slow?

    LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.

    "Are you OK? Yes? Well, I'm going to run you in, and another cop will smash your face for good measure. Hey, don't worry, we only do this out of concern for your welfare!" :rolleyes:

    Mord, are you implying that they shoved him with the pure intention of it causing his death?

    Edit: Sigh. Do I have to explain everything?

    "Are you okay?"
    "**** OFF I'M SLEEPING."
    "No need for that.."
    "MY TAXES PAY YOUR WAGES I'LL KICK YOUR ASS!"
    *scuffle, broken nose*

    Now, what makes your version of events any more legitimate than mine?

    I'll be in the study when you've come up with something.

    So saying 'F off' to a cop who just woke you up merits getting your face smashed?

    Read a post before you quote it. You might also want a dictionary to look up the word "scuffle".

    I'll give you a hypothetical though: The cop thinks she might be drunk, and if you're in a car and drunk, you deserve to be hauled out and breathalised. He goes to get her out of the car, she swings for him, he defends himself and ends up cracking her one.

    I've never seen anyone pull off the road to take a powernap. Indulge my curiosity, where would this be a common practice? Parking your car in a random place along the road is illegal around here on most roads and I'm pretty sure that sleeping in your car would fall under the law that you can't just camp anywhere. You're only option would be to get a hotel, but I'm sure 99% of the people would just pull up to a gas station and get a cup of coffee instead and just drive all night.

    In some countries, the government encourages it. Indeed, some traffic authorities put up signs stating that if you are feeling fatigued, to *take a power nap*. That's right, they encourage you to pull up on the side of the road and get some sleep.

    So better to put people on the road at risk by driving half-asleep, rather than put no-one at risk by taking a powernap on the side of the road?

    Wow, just wow. I'm coming to realise that most people WANT a police state. They WANT to be harassed, searched, badgered, and annoyed by the police, even when they are literally doing nothing.

    Didn't say it was right mate, just said what most people would do around here and that sleeping on the side of the road in your car is actually illegal.

    I certainly hope you didn't get that from my post, since I was simply stating facts, not giving my opinion.

    That seems to be his most common tactic - Make a wild assumption and apply it to you in an effort to invalidate arguments.

    I remember hearing about the incident in the video a year ago or so. It turned out the video was completely out of context. He had just come around the corner from another confrontation with the same police, in which he cursed them out and, I think, tried to take a swing at one of them or soemthing. He then got right in front of them, walked at about 1/2 walking speed, I think kicked one of the dogs as it came along side him, and there was more I'm not remembering right now. Anyway, by the end of it, dozens of witnesses (from the protest) had come forth saying the police had little choice and that his death, tragic though it may be, was entirely his own fault.

    [IMG] mordea = countduckula
    countduckula = banned last year
    mordea = banned just now

    Just in case somebody misses him. Again. Normally I give problematic users a lot of leeway before banning, but not people who got themselves banned (at least) once already and then simply violate our rules further by creating a new account and posting from there.

    Is there not some way of banning his IP address (I think that's the right thingey) from the site?

    Not a good idea, sorry :) A lot of websites do this, but it turns out that people can change their IP address (by moving, or using a proxy, or simply resetting the connection to their provider) and multiple people can use the same address.

    Fair enough. I'm not good with computer stuff.
    If he tries it on again can we go after him with pitchforks?

    Well, if mordea can still read this or just in my "defence" or for anyone who's just remotely interested:
    By the looks of it, I've made harder smacks to the ground than this Ian and I'm still alive. I don't believe the policeman intended to kill him and Ian's death just seems unfortunate.

    (*sigh* Replying to a banned person feels like talking to yourself...)
