    Anyone know of one? Its kinda hard to tell based solely on appearance, as a Great Sword (for instance) looks as long as a Guisarme.

    Talking 'bout reach weapons...

    You're not supposed to be able to hit creatures in adjacent squares, right? I can hit everything within a 10' radius, though. Everybody else "suffer" from this inconvenience? :p No wonder that combat reflexes and greater cleave are so popular in this game.

    Yeah, I've got that "problem" too...all my melee guys are using Reach weapons of some kind. Although now that I think about it, do the monsters have the same advantage? I don't think I've paid close enough attention to notice.

    [​IMG] Some like chains, whips and I think one other allow attacks in adjacent squares.

    I also seem to remember a penalty when hitting adjacent squares but not sure if that's implemented in the game, or even if it's in the rulebooks let alone ToEE.

    My guess is if characters can use them then monsters use them in the same capacity, so hitting within 10' means monsters can too.

    Now I'm thinking of reinstalling this game to create a "Ghost Rider" character with a crafted chain. :)

    Old post but still relevant (I hit upon it looking for a list of reach weapons).

    Actually, there are a few weapons that do cause 'reach' ... i.e., unable to hit creatures in adjacent squares. My first run was with a spear (not longspear) and I could hit adjacents. The next run was with a guisarme and I had to take a five-foot step before I could hit an adjacent. In what is documented, only a spiked chain is supposed to hit adjacents as well as one-away creatures, but it is not intuitive at all which weapons are reach and which are not. I expected both greatsword and spear to be reach weapons but neither are. For some reason my brain associated '2-handed' with 'reach' but that is not the case at all.

    I'm running vanilla + Temple+ mod with all extra content off. The option in the mod 'reach weapons hit adjacents' doesn't work. So you have to be careful when picking weapons. Which is why I was looking for such a list in the first place.
