Mod to expand the GUI?

    Hi everyone,

    All things being equal, I would like to play BG2 again with the Widescreen mod in 1200 x 960 resolution.

    The field view is great, but my beef is that the Graphical User Interface (GUI) ends up crunching things like the Character Record and Inventory Menus rather small.

    Is there a mod that can expand the GUI for this kind of resolution so its not so much like I'm looking at a smaller Window inside another Window?

    Thanks for any advice given.

    The problem is that they are different aspect ratios.
    640/480 = 1.333
    1200/960 = 1.25

    If your screen was instead set to 1280x960 things should look fine.

    I don't know if your monitor supports this resolution.

    If that's lower than his monitor's native resolution (both horizontal and vertical), it's possible, but then everything will look quite squat and flattened. The entire point of the widescreen mod is to avoid that, I'd think.

    That mod didn't work so well on my netbook, though, as it doesn't appear to support 1024x600 and during a dialogue, there would be a part on the right that wouldn't get refreshed and all the old letters would remain there. Made reading dialogue quite difficult, so I uninstalled the mod again.

    Rereading the question, do you want to inflate the GUI icons so it doesn't look so small at higher resolutions, Beren? Or do you mean that the GUI messing up due to the widescreen setting?
