Russian neo-nazi gang busted

That a simple one. Both.

 

These sick bastards are everywhere. It's one thing to advocate stricter immigration controls and government removal of foreign criminals (as I quite vocally do). It's quite another to go out and kill foreigners at random. They should be executed post haste.

 

I ddin't even know there was such a thing as Russian neo-Nazis.

 

Yes, they are an absurdity. They embrace an ideology according to which they are AS Slavs subhuman. Only black or Jewish Nazis would be more absurd. But then, there you go.

I don't see anything specific in the paper about their ideology (but ofcourse, it's MSN. Do they ever do any decent background info?)

They're labelled as neo-nazis, but I don't think that that term is officially linked with German-race supremacy. You can still mix neo-nazism with Slav-race supremacy, right? (In my ontology you can )

@ Morgoroth - you can, and there is some local influence - these guys believe themselves "Nordics", not without some cause considering just who the "Rus" were originally. Still, from other articles I've seen some of these ....s do believe a lot of what came out of the so-called Third Reich, just omit the idea that "true" Russians were also sub-human.

On top of all the other repulsive s..t, it's pathetic. The usual victims are people from other parts of the ex-USSR, from the Caucasian or the Middle East - Kazakhs, Uzbekis, and so on (southeast asians and africans are much rarer in Russia). Their grandfathers fought, killed and died for the USSR in the greatest war it ever faced, just like the Russians*, and this is what their offspring get in return, from the grandsons of the very people they fought alongside with? Nazism was one of the worst social abominations of the 20th century, but here it's added to what amounts to betrayal of one of the turning moments of their own history. The very thought of a Russian doing the Hitler salute makes me want to puke.

I've heard it stated, that such parties are allowed to exist by the powers-that-be to distract Russians, especially young ones, from the real political issues. When they want, the authorities can round up these wannabe-supermenschen in a night or two. It doesn't feel so hard to believe, unfortunately.

*: at least, those that didn't fight alongside the Germans. There were a few of those, iirc especially in Ukraine... They didn't end well.

 

Russia is notorious for its racist groups and this is no news. The shear ruthlessness of the different racist groups in Russia is astonishing. These guys can come in clear daylight and kick your teeth in if you happen to be of the wrong color, not to mention what happens at night. A Finnish journalist who is more or less an expert of Russia said to me in a conversation that Russia is the only country she knows where it's possible to get killed in daylight by these kinds of groups if you happen to be dark skinned. The culprits are also rarely caught and the cases reach prosecution only once in a while.

This was a few years ago so I hope the situation has gotten better but I have my doubts.
