    Hey everyone !

Its time for another playthrough of BG2+TOB. Until now i always played with tactics and ascension installed, its time to try something different.

I was thinking of installing ascension and SCS2. What do you think ?

As for the party, i plan on going berserker(13)/mage or WizardSlayer(13)/mage, cant decide here ( i want something that can cast timestop and at the same time being fun. I tried Kensei/mage already, soo something/mage this time ).

NPCs would be: Minsc, Jaherae, Haerdalis, Aerie, Yoshimo -> Imoen ( here i am not sure. I can detect traps and open locks with other chars. And Yoshimo will "steal" a lot of exp...prolly more then he can give me by his quest and opening locks/disarming traps. But then again, its not all about exp....

What else could i install with ascension and SCS2 ? I was thinking about that mod that adds quests that were removed from BG2 prior to release. Also, it would be cool if i could do all stronghold quests ( and maybe some other class related quests ).

    Soo, what you think ?

If you don't mind fiddling with the rules a bit, you could download shadow keeper and play a multi-classed Wizard Slayer (or Berserker)/Mage. Or even a fighter/wild mage. Given the choice of the two you listed, I would probably go for Berserker/Mage. It just seems like having berserk would have utility beyond fighting mages, and you wouldn't be restricting your equipment choices much. The inability of Wizard Slayers to use magic items beyond weapons and armor would seem to be a major impediment to playing that specific combination.

I do have the mod that adds the quests back in prior to the games release. Most of them are more amusing than challenging (notably the Minsc/Boo quest).

I also have the mod installed that allows all strongholds (in fact, I think it was the same mod). If you are looking to maximize your XPs, then that is clearly the way to go. Although I will caution that you'll be spending a ton of time walking around to all your strongholds. It takes about a week for each event to take place in the stronghold, and a great many of them require you travelling from the city. You'll find that with all the traveling involved, by the time you do all of the events, the first one you did will be ready for the next step.

As for additional mods, there is one that gives Cromwell the ability to forge more items. As an example, he can take Keldorn's Firecam Plate, combine it with the Plate of the Hart, a demon heart, and 20,000 gp, and you get a significantly upgraded armor. (I think you may also need a 20 in reputation for it.) Another example would be to use the illithium to upgrade Azuredge (I think that's the name of the throwing axe that has the chance to destroy undead) instead of the mace of disruption. But there's probably about a dozen new recipes for Cromwell.

I do not want quests for extra money, but only for extra amusement ( as u said, minsc, boo ) and for stronghold quests.....this are prolly the last areas of bg2 i didnt yet explore, soo it will be awesome to see something in BG2 i never saw before ( and being official quests )

I did berserker(13)/mage once and it was nice. I think that at this level this build is more powerful then Kensai/M.
The F/M that I recommed though is gnomish F/I. He can cast Time Stop and is the best fighter in the game. Ex-equo with any other F/M he's the best tank, but also has a ton of whirlwinds, so he can deal a lot of melee damage/round. When it comes to casting, the difference between illusionist(20) and mage(31) is that the former looses 1 spell at levels 7-9, but gains 1 at 1-5. Worse, but not what one would expect from 11 levels of difference. And he can shapechange to a mind flyer and then whirlwind, killing up to 5 tough brutes per round. Do I have to add that he rocks all the way through the game w/out a stop after changing a class? :)
