Well this is strange. I started a game as an evil party, I went to Peldvale, protected Viconia from the Flaming Fist, and then when I speak to her, I don't get any dialog options. She simply says, "there will be more, and perhaps we'll meet again", and then walks off. I wasn't aware of any other pre-condition that needed to be met. What gives here?

Is she supposed to initiate the conversation?

Initially she does. But she just stands there after you kill the flaming fist guy.

Low charisma perhaps? I suppose you don't have too much reputation, getting there fast, with the intention to play an evil party.

My reputation was probably 4ish. I don't remember the charisma offhand, but it wasn't remarkably low. It was certainly at least 10.

    I had this problem too.
In fact whenever i try to recruit Viccy in the Peldvale, the Flaming-Fist fool missing and thus the fight never happens and Viccy remains un-joinable.

But it works if I meet her on my way to Nashkel. The first area south of Beregost.

Well that is strange indeed, as I had already fulfilled both of those preconditions. I went to her immediately after leaving Candlekeep. The only other characters in the party were Monty, Xzar and Imoen, as they were the only ones I had encountered at that point.

Wait a second... you can get Viconia on the way to Beregost? I can say I have NEVER found her there. Where exactly is she?

That's too little. You get reaction of 6 and need 8.
    http://www.forgottenwars.com/bg1/ar2400.htm

But did you try talking to her with Imoen? IIRC her CHA is 15-16, which, from my memory, should give you enough.

Surely some mod. I'm absolutely positive she's not there.

ADDED: Oh, and there's some mod that makes evil party members join you regardless of your NPC reaction.

And here I was, thinking that a low reputation would have a POSITIVE reaction when dealing with evil NPCs.

    Bugger! Sorry for the confusion!

I totally forgot that I play a modded game. The BWP to be exact.

    Sorry again!

No, reaction works the same regardless of who you talk with.
There is a not entirely senseless mod that makes low reputation increase your reaction. The rationale is that people deal with you better because they fear you. As a side effect, if solves the issue with recruiting evil party members too.

Viccy not joining you is most definitely linked to low charisma and/or reputation unless you have one of the mentioned mods that rectify this "but she's evil so she should adore me!!" paradox.

I had to go against the grain and get a +1 rep increase before addressing her just for this exact reason in my most recent go.

Sounds like some sort of bug.
