 English people don't eat english muffins? I mean, I kind of assumed that they were called "english muffins" because they had some connect to an actual item from England.

Yeah but you have a place called England over there though and I doubt it's anything like the original ;)

Well you wouldn't the runny yolk is the yummiest part of the fried egg obviously.

Flipping an egg without breaking the yolk takes practice, but it becomes easy after. It's all in the wrist, really. I used to do it for a living when I work in a restaurant.

In full agreement with Barmy again. Here we just have boiled, fried, poached, scrambled, or omelette.

The muffin dish described above is close to what I would call Eggs Benedict, but that has a different sort of sauce, hollandaise, which is easy to stuff up if you don't know what you're doing.

I like fried eggs and omelettes, especially our boerenomelet ("farmer's omelette"). It's an omelette with onion, leeks, bell pepper, mushrooms and ham or bacon all fried into it. Topped with cheese. Some peas aught to be added, but I often leave them out.

That omelet sounds pretty good Mon, I make those sometimes but I never thought about adding peas to eggs. Although it sounds unusual to me I think I will have to try it. Often things that sound unusual can be quite good.

Would you say that one was over-easy Silvery, or Sunny Side up? :D

hahahah  - Yah Gaear, toasted :p

I used to be a fan of Sunny Side Up, and I'd dip my toast in the warm yet unsolidified yolk. As I got older, I came to the realization that you can hust put the egg on the toast and break the yolk and get the same effect without getting toast crumbs on your fingers. In some diners, I believe that 2 sunnuy side eggs on toast is referred to as "Adam and Eve on a Raft", but you can't say that anymore thanks to the godless liberals ;)

I've developed a taste for soft poached eggs, as long as the water is drained properly. When I'm feeling decadent and no longer care about the cholesterol that is slowly encasing my heart, I might even go for Eggs Benedict, though I'm not a fan of English muffins (the food, that is). I'm a straightforward white bread kind of guy.

If I'm cooking, I try all sorts of things, yet they always end up scrambled. I then throw in bacon, bits of sausage, bacon, eggs, and maybe peppers if I have any.

    :D

Sounds like what we call a "Uitsmijter". I wiki-ed this for a translation by hitting the English button (sounds MUG too), but the Strammer Max, which is actually German, seems different. An Uitsmijter has at least 2 slices of (white) bread, cheese and ham (sometimes bacon).

That dish looks very tasty Mon. Looks like it could be presented as a dinner or a breakfast.

Uitsmijters (litterally translation would be "throw outs" or "bouncers" :p) are usually eaten for dinner here... in diners (oh really!?). But they make a fine breakfast too.

I also like a Surinamese egg: Hard boiled egg fried in curry/masala and other spices.
