CNN's "what we know so far" take on the story.

 

Pretty disgusting how the liberals are quick to accuse (without evidence, mind you) that the Tea Party or 'the right' caused this.

Blaming political opponents for unrelated acts of terrorism and violence is a new low for the liberals. Democratic Party strategists are urging Obama to "never let a crisis go to waste." And the liberal media is openly pushing for the politicization of such events. It's hardly the first time they've tried this too. The liberal media is encouraging It looks like the liberals finally got what they wanted.

I'm sure that there are also those blaming this on Hezbollah, or Iran, or North Korea, or GLAAD, or the NAACP, or those loonies in Montana, or Sheriff Arapaio, or Monsanto, or Hillary Clinton, or Bush Jr., ot whoever. They are all off base at this point because we don't know a dang thing at the moment.

In addition, since to my knowledge no one has come forth to claim responsibility for it, it's not likely an established terror organization. Part of their power is in claiming responsibility for their acts.

But even that is conjecture. All we can say with certainty is that someone with very low moral fibre attacked and killed some people. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and my support is for those currently tryng to piece together what happened.

 

Don't be a tit. There are people who are mourning their losses or praying for injured loved ones. It's a bit more important than whatever half-cocked (and, frankly, boring) political slant you want to add to it in a desperate need to validate yourself.
No one has claimed responsibility for it so why make it something it's not until they do?

 

Truly horrifying. Things like this are terrible wherever they occur, but the perverse irony of bombing the finish line at a marathon is especially sickening. My thoughts are with the dead, injured and their families.

I'm not the one accusing anyone of anything. Several prominent Democrats, leftists and journalists have accused the Tea Party and/or "right-wingers" of being responsible. They claim it was a response to "Tax Day," when there is zero evidence to support such claims. It's disgusting that people are using this to score political points.

 

Want to know a secret?

All of us adults already know that politicians use this sort of thing to their advantage which is why we ignore it.
A thread that has been set up to show support for the victims of such a tragedy is not the place for it. Even a politician would have the sense not to be so callous.

First off, @AD - aside from Michael Moore (whose idiocy level is exceeded only by that of Rush Limbaugh’s), I haven’t read anywhere where “prominent Democrats, leftists and journalists have accused the Tea Party and/or "right-wingers" of being responsible”. I have read/heard speculation that, included amongst the possible groups responsible, are extremist groups related to tax protests, but there have been no blanket accusations by any credible sources actually blaming the Tea Party et al.

Secondly, Silvery is becoming one of my favorite posters.

 

Michael Moore is a nutjob, for sure, but him aside... David Axelrod, a prominent Democratic Party adviser, has also hinted that it was the Tea Party or another "anti-tax" group. CNN has stated (without evidence) that a "right-wing extremist" group might be responsible. MSNBC followed in suite. Federal government officials have also directly blamed the Tea Party. There is zero evidence to support that the Tea Party or any other "right-wing" or "anti-tax" group was responsible.

 

I apologize if anyone was offended, but that was not my intention. I do not believe I singled out anyone or attacked any person or group. I was merely pointing out how it's disgusting that this is being politicized.

 

And again, they were speculating as to who might be responsible, and not to the exclusion of anyone else. The possible exception was the person in you last link, who went against a directive not to jump to conclusions - the fact that she works for the government doesn't mean she speaks Ithe government, despite what the wording of your post implies. You really do see evil lurking around every corner, don't you?

 

If a right wing pastor were to blame this on gays, it would have been mentioned.

I don't care why the perps did it, I want them caught and punished.

I knew about 30 people who were running or spectating that event. Thankfully I managed to account for them soon afterwards but it made the whole thing even more terrifying for me.

And my 8 year old son often watches me finish a race so it's en more awful to think about what Martin Richards family must be going through.
