Cleric or Werewolf?

Which one would you choose? The cleric can turn undead which is very useful but the werewolf can turn into a, well, a werewolf. Duh! lol. The werewolf also has the greater werewolf form that is just monstrous. No pun intended.
The druid (werewolf for those new to the game and don't know what I mean) also get's the Iron Skins spell that works like stoneskin.

What can you suggest why I should choose the cleric over the werewolf?

Generally speaking the cleric is seen as better than the shapeshifter druid. Sadly the werewolf form keeps you from casting and has enough annoying problems that it gets in the way at times.

For instance you can't use your weapons, change your weapons, it may lower your ability scores if they are already high, super high con from the greater form is slightly reduced in strength because you don't get the awesome bonus HP, cannot place anything in your armor slot (not even a robe which would have been nice though I have not checked the big metal unit), your wolf resistances do not all stack with equipment (so I am told) and most importantly no casting.

The mod that changes shifting makes it WAY too powerful so I don't recommend it. If I was to mod it I would make it so that it does not remove your weapons, gave you fighter con bonuses, and have all resistances stack with equipment and the like.

You can "cheat" and get your weapons in wolf mode but you need a party member to cast dispel magic on you. You still can't change your weapons but you can use your current weapons along with your bonus attacks from being a wolf which is pretty nice. Sadly this makes changing shape a chore especially if you want to switch to cast a lot.

On the plus side druid has some very nice spells going for it especially at 5th level spells (insect plague and iron skins are AMAZING). If you want to play a great caster druid I recommend the avenger druid which has some decent shapes too.

 

Werewolves definitely provide a more interesting gaming experience than do clerics. The druid, with it's spells, is a master of battlefield tactics. Changing into an effective tank and decent fighter only helps matters.

 

It must be a mod I have installed. As far as I can remember I only have the tweeks mod going. I think that's the one. But it lets you have your "paw" equipped as well as a weapon in your other hand as long as it's a melee weapon.
As someone here told me, you can put the "paw" in your off hand and still get the 3 attacks. Just put whatever weapon you want to use in your main hand. Personally I like Spectral Brand myself

It allows you to change out weapons and cast spells while in wolf form. This must be the mod your referring too when you say it's too powerful?

Oh yea, it also allows you to wear armor. Aeger's is nice

The Shapeshifter Unbalancing Mod makes the werewolf forms unbelievably powerful. Without the mod Cernd can seriously tank in GWW form -- with the mod I think he can kill Demogorgon by himself.

I think the mod also comes with the "greaterbearwere" or something like that from the conjure animals spell. Those things are nasty enough to kill Cernd even with the mod. They are insane.
