I'm assuming they added a bunch of magic items. What can I look for? :tobattle:

Most of the added items are nothing special compared to what was already available.
One that i like is a returning item from BG1, the dagger of venom (+2 does 1 poison damage per second for 15 seconds) - really nice to have as a secondary weapon on your thief to backstab with, very effective for disrupting enemy mages.

There's also the unholy reaver in watcher's keep, a blackguard only sword (dispel on hit, immune to charm, +5) basically tailored to Dorn, but can be used by a PC black reaver as well. It's basically the evil version of Carsomyr.

During Neera's quests, you can get the Robe of Goodman Hayes (permanent chaos shield on wearer) - really good for either neera or a PC wild mage.
Couple this with the new ToB item Thayvan Circlet (+15% chance that wild surge will have a positive effect) to make neera/your pc a bit less of a wildcard.
Similarly, when 1st meeting Rasaad you can pickpocket/kill treya to get the cloak of unerrring strikes (+2 thac0 for offhand) and further on during Rasaad's quest line you pick up the Gauntlets of Aln Zekk (+3 unarmed damage, 15% of hits do 1d10 cold damage) which are good on either him or a monk PC.
During the same quest line you also get the quick-slot item Gem of seeing, which can cast true sight once a day, not a bad thing to have.

Hexxat's quest gives you a bag of holding (holds her coffin but also functions as a regular bag of holding) allowing you to get one a lot earlier then spellhold.

That's pretty much it for the new items that i find useful to have, you can find a full list on the beamdog forums if you want to know all the items they've added.

Thanks. I'll have to keep an eye out for some of those :)

I'd also advice you take all the 'new' npc's - Rasaad, Dorn, Neera and Hexxat.
Most new content and items show up during their personal quests, though their alignments are across the board so you might need to juggle your rep a bit to keep them all happy.
Alternatively, install the BG2 Tweaks mod from gibberlings3, it has an option that makes npc's always happy and never fight each other

Bg2 Tweaks also adds some other good to have tweaks, like making all dialogues pause the game (because getting attacked by some kobolds during a dialog sucks)
Also, disabling portrait icons - after chapter 2/3 I've always wear so much gear with permanent effects i can barely see my character's portrait, which i hate, so this is essential for me - i can still check what effects i have active on the record screen.
More interjections is also a must have - fixes a ton of problems in the games scripts which cause npc's to not acknowledge your companions presence during dialogue, meaning you miss out on additional lines or entire dialog entirely.
also, the option to have neutral characters make 'happy' comments when you have average reputation, while not necessary is cool - at the least it means that every so often Jaheira actually has something positive to say now
Removing EXP cap, adding the bonus merchants & infinite stacking of scrolls/potions/ammo/jewelry speak for themselves, but are all good to have.

Thanks xosmi. I'll have to reserve a spot to switch out the 4 new npcs.
