After level up, I can't raise any of the attributes. I just don't get the option to do it. Or I'm blind.

Will patching the game help? In that case, can I use old saves if I patch the game?

Please help me, I adore this game, but I'll never make it to the end if I can't raise my attributes (I'm supposed to get one point each time I get a level, right?)

Ok,I'm new to all this. Obviously :)

    Thanks!!!

You can raise one of your attributes by one every four levels. (At least in 3.5e D&D, I don't know about 2nd edition. But I'm asuming it isn't any different.)

Torment uses the 2nd edition rules, and the Nameless One works differently still. You're indeed supposed to get one point to allocate at every level up, with the following exception:

If you change your class (via a trainer), you only start getting more points once you gain more levels in your new class than the previous one. Example: A 6th level fighter switches to a mage. He starts at level 1. Through levels 1-6 he doesn't gain character points, but once he hits level 7 he starts getting them again. If he switches back to fighter before getting the 7th mage level, he gains points with every level up in fighter.

Long story short: you only gain points when you level up in your highest class.

    My stats:

    Mage lvl 3

    STR 9
    INT 16
    WIS 15
    DEX 12
    CON 11
    CHR 13

I only remember getting attribute point once. I think I was Fighter lvl 5 or 6 before I turned to mage. Which means I missed several points :( I'm still not sure what to do, but maybe what Susipaisti said is the thing...

Yes, Susipaisti has your problem nailed. If you have reached level 6 as a fighter, you won't get any extra character points until you reach level 7 in any class, and you will only get one extra HP per level-up.

You should have got character points for all level-ups as a fighter.

That's quite bizarre to me, or maybe I'm just spoiled by the current rules system.

It actually balances the game quite nicely. Without this feature you could get a lot of virtually free character points by switching to a new class (at level 1) at the point in the game where exp is really plentiful.

If you stick to one class, you'll find this system's a lot more generous with the points than the 3rd edition rules. Nameless One can't multiclass, you see. The other classes stay hidden and inactive until you switch it with a trainer.

I actualy like the system used in Ps:T more than BGII, for example. Gives you so much more to look forward to every level up.

And so much more powegaming... Good ridance they never did anything similar in a game like baldurs gate or icewind dale.

The ruleset is buildt around a person that have had so much knowledge and power inside of himself so many times that he could probablly just "recal godhood" and become a deity.

    Always patch the 4-CD version.

    Never patch the 2-CD version.

    Right next to you :p

It's Dak'kon. I also think that any of the people who train you in proficiencies will first ask you if you want to revert back to fighter.
