    1) Free Action prevents anything from affecting your movement. Hold spells, Web spells, Slow spells etc.

    2) Dimension Door is a kind of teleportation spell isn't it? I never used it so I could be wrong.

    3) Yes, Rangers learn their spells automatically just like Paladins, Clerics and Druids.

Yep, demention door is the same as teleport. I only used it once (well, twice, I had to get back too :)) to get a magic necklece that couldn't be reached otherwise. Also, according to a walkthrough it's possible to take a shortcut using demention door on one of the HOW maps to get a bit of XP early, but I didn't do that.

It only works in the line of sight of the caster. So if, say, a mage is being attacked by a group of trolls, they could cast demention door to a safer place 10-15 feet away.

dimension door was truely a waste in this game. it would have been great for bgII to combine in a sequencer, ie. droping two large area affects then gating out in the same breath, but alas the two games just couldn't contain both spells.
