My favorite class is probably Rangers. They can use two weapons at the same time(only if they are the same kind, like two longswords and have no shield equipped.) Also, they are not only great fighters, but they can cast druidic spells.

[IMG] Pure fighters. Weapon specialisation is great. You can do 5 attaks per round with some weapons and have low THACO at the same time.

I don't know what version of IWD you have icingdeath45, because you can't dual wield in the one I have  I like to play Bards because they remind me most of myself :)

    Paladins are great.

I think that rangers using one-handed sword without shield get one extra per round. But it is impossible to dual-wield weapons. Or is there a mod or tweak that allows characters to use two weapons?

It really depends on if you have HoW installed, or not.

Pale Justice is awesome in the original game; there's nothing like it. Aihonen's sword only comes close.

With HoW installed, I'm going to have to change that to a cleric. High level cleric, at that.

You can't go much further in soloing with a Paladin mes amis... But with a Dwarven Fighter/Cleric or Fighter/Thief you can surely pass the game without any difficulty... Also good for Fighters/Thiefs are Halflings or Elves...

If rangers have no shields, and two weapons of the same type ex:2 longswords then they gain an extra attack per round. They actually dual-wield, but it just doesnt show it in-game. If you read the manual it says they dual-wield.

There is something wonderful about taking a dwarven fighter, giving him a fighter1 script, and watching things that he runs into die in a hurry. :)

Rangers are still my fave, though.

I passed the game with a Dwarven Fighter and Halflingish Fighter/Thief... The Dwarf was like a steam-roller throught he enemies... Brutal, mercyless, direct and bad, very bad...

Fighter/Druid all the way baby! :D There's just something about playing as a defender of nature that appeals to me. :)

ya um I don't get this whole dual-wielding thing. Can you just put a sword in his hand and one is his shield slot? I want to solo as a ranger, and two weapons would be better than one.

No. Put a weapon in one hand and nothing in the shield hand, and your Ranger will get an extra attack with that weapon.

I guess should read the manual more often ;) I tried putting a weapon in the shield slot :o It also says rangers can only dual wield short and long swords. I don't feel too bad though, because technically an extra attack per round does not make it dual wielding :p
