Any word on new downloadable character voice sets (either official or unofficial)? I know it's not terribly important, but I'm looking for something a little less (highfalutin' / squeaky-annoying / Xena, Warrior Princess-esque / fill in the blank) for a female cleric character, and none of the included ones really seem to fit. I just need something organic and sober, and the only one that comes close is, er, the "Seductive" choice, which is inappropriate for different reasons. (poster is a square) :square:

We have yet to see any new voice sets. Anyway, I used the last one, the totally crazy one. All others were unappropriate for a young mage, and at least this one was funny... But the selection really is poor. They made a bunch of stereotype voice sets only fitting for one type of character instead of making more general voice sets, which would definitely make more sense.

I'm using the "mature swashbuckler". "Ha ha! Have at thee!" :)

Heh. The 'mature swashbuckler' is the voice set I use. While the others are amusing to listen to, I'd get sick of them in about 5 minutes.

Brooding Dark Hero works fine for me.

"Not bad! Not bad at all!"

BTW is it still possible to add your own (like the voice set of minsc from BG)?

If so I have yet to figure out which folder to place the files in. Anyone know?

Yeah.. I definitely would like to see someone convert the Dak'kon and Vhailor voicesets that we could use in BG2.

[IMG] Custom soundsets are not an option in NWN, so forget it. And don't stray off topic to BG2 either. Those soundsets actually ARE available for BG2. Search SP better.

[IMG] Err tal, i think he was saying that he would like to see someone convert them from the BG2 format to NWN.

Ok on-topic - As much as it pains me to say this, i do believe you're wrong. Custom soundsets are possible (but not easy) - click here

If anyone wants to follow the progress made with making it easier then try this topic on the Bioware boards.

No, I'm not wrong. There is no in-game support for custom voice sets, period. The methods described in those links basically require you to take some core game files apart to insert the voice sets, or replace some existing ones via the override, which is strictly unsupported by BioWare. That's more likely to screw the game up than work. When you need to hack something to pieces to be able to (possibly) get it work, 99% of people will skip that option, me included. NWN is crash-prone enough without adding to it.

As Lazy Bonzo pointed out.. all I wanted to know was whether we could convert those voicesets to NWN format :)

Ah well we can only dream.
