    My configs are:
    • Pentium III - 800 MHZ
    • Windows 98 SE
    • 256 MB RAM
    • DirectX 8.1
    • NVidia TNT2 Model 64 (M64) Pro (A 32MB PCI Video Card from Inno3D)
    • OpenGL 1.1 (NWN Configuration report)
I can see the logo of Atari, the red dragon, Wizards of Coast, then I get a blank screen and a gauntlet for my mouse pointer. Also whenever I run the Toolset, I get an error message that NWN cannot find my 3D program. I figure that my problem is that I have an OpenGL 1.1 but I don't know where to download OpenGL 1.2 or higher (all I can find are specifications). I have read that OpenGL 1.2 or higher should already be included with the gaphics drivers, but I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my video card but to no avail. I even got a new version of GLSetup installed (although I still don't know what it does).
So here are some questions that I need your help with:

    1. Where can I download OpenGL 1.2 or higher?
    2. How do I know what version of OpenGL is installed in the PC without using NWN's Configuration Report?
    3. Is OpenGL really my problem here?
    4. Bottmon line: How do I make NWN work on my machine?

I've been surfing the net for 2 weeks now trying to make NWN run. I just want to play this game, can anybody help.... pleeease.

BTW, I have searched this forum too.

    Mollusken,

Maybe I did something wrong because I have already download and installed that one.

    I'll give it another try.

    Thanks.

I don't think I've ever heard of any problems with nVidia GPUs and NWN if you have the latest drivers installed...

[IMG] This may not be what you want to hear, but IIRC, the M64 is actually a cut-down version of a TNT2 and as such may not be capable of running the game.

If you have not already tried it, turn down/off all the sound/video options to their lowest levels so you are trying to run the game at its simplest. If you get some sort of playability, then ramp up the detail step by step.

    Hope this helps

    Mouse,

Is the AGP one better than the PCI? I mean for the TNT2 M64 Pro (BTW, there are two M64, one has a "Pro"). And I have seen in several internet cafe that are using the same video card (I'm just not sure if it's PCI or AGP) and NWN is running fine. The only difference that the NWN configuration report of these i-cafe and mine are the OpenGL version (CPU and RAM, some have better, some are less, and some are equal to mine). Problem is the people looking after these establishments are just storekeepers not exactly tech guys, otherwise, I would have already solved my problem. I wanted to just copy the OpenGL files, but I don't really know what files to copy and not sure how to install it.

Tonight, I'm going to unistall and reinstall the video card, drivers, and NWN. Man! I'll have to upgrade NWN again... last time I did that it took me more or less two hours! BTW, I remember I could access the Toolset before upgrading NWN but could not play NWN. After upgrading, no game and no toolset.

when you try this, don't upgrade the NWN until you confirm that it works. I am on a 56K link and my update kept getting corrupted. Ended up downloading it to my PC at work which is on a T1 line and running the patch later. That fixed my problem....it was the same as yours, except my whole computer would lock up at that place

I solved my problem, it's with the driver of the graphics card. It seems that upgrading the old driver with new ones mess it up (or probably I did something wrong in between). I realized this because what I did after I format my HD, upon istallation of the graphics card I use the new set of drivers, totally disregarded the CD that came with the card. It worked, OpenGL is now 1.4. And I'm planning not to upgrade NWN anymore. I don't know what I might do wrong again. I'm playing the game now. :)

    Thanks for the help.
