For BG, I would say the Tutu mod--all the BG content with the conveniences of the BG2 engine. It also has the benefit of several mods designed only for BG with Tutu such as the Mur'Neth and Indira NPCs, the BG1 NPC Project, and the Tutu Tweak Pack.

For content, I would say BG1 NPC as it aims to make the BG1 NPCs as well-rounded and chatty as their BG2 counterparts. I have not played Mur'Neth and Indira and I'll refrain from commenting on my own work (Tutu Tweaks). ;)

For BG sans Tutu, the mod I'm looking forward to the most is Echon's Fields of the Dead. He is planning to make a Tutu version eventually, but the vanilla BG version is his first priority.

I think the grey clan is really good. Adds some bad guys into existing maps, and throws in a couple of new items and stuff. Also, doesnt drag on forever. Oh, and it's pretty non-buggy. All in all, pretty sweet.

The deal is that I've played through the game twice now (first time the months following the game being released and also just finished it with TotSC for the first time yesterday) and probably wouldn't cope with a re-run of with just a tweak here and there. What I'm looking for is an entirely new major plot, perhaps a continueing or some such..

When I finished BG2 I heard of Dark Side of the Sword Coast and thought it to be exactly what I´m looking for, though TeamBGs webpage seems to have disappeared. Anyway after checking out some of the posts here, I see that there is, litterly countless mods and tweaks done to the game which makes me go  but also  ... So I'd appreciate any help in this mod jungle..

    Thanks.

Don't think Dark Side can be played without starting a new game. I agree with Takara about the Grey Clan, definitely a good Mod.

I'd go with Cam and say Tutu is great if you have BGII installed. :D

Use the Fixpack and Indira (both from http://www.pocketplane.net ).

Also try Tutu Tweaks, the BG1 NPC Project and Mur'Neth (from http://www.gibberlings3.net ).

Though I could be pretty biased. :p

The Grey Clan, as various have mentioned, is also worth a look with or without Tutu - that's from G3 again.

I'm playing the NPC project right now and I can say it's a blast. It really adds a new dimension in the game.

I still have to finish the grey clan so I can't comment on that but the part I've played looked really challeging.

    Tutu is very nice.

CamDawg has an exceptionally good taste in mods. I suggest you listen to what he has to say.

Thanks for the replies guys, :D but what I´m really looking for is a BG1 with additional adventures, not the same but tweaked a little.. Aren't there any of those..

Grey Clan adds a quest. BG1 NPC adds a few minor ones and will have more in future releases (but again, requires Tutu). DSotSC adds many but it has so many drawbacks I can't in good conscience recommend it.

Otherwise there are two other BG quest mods in development of which I know--the aforementionted Fields of the Dead and the BG Quest Pack, in development over at Black Wyrm.

You could always visit the Pocket Plane Group's Infinity Engine Modlist and look in the Baldur's Gate section. There are a few mods there that were mentioned above, as well as some others.

On a side note, when I went to install Grey Clan, I got an error message telling me to do install in my Infinity Engine game directory. I don't have a clue what that means.

I would say the Grey Clan mod is the best one out for BG1 so far, it's very good and makes the later segments of the game very interesting and even more challenging. It was sort of a drain on my Pentium 2 laptop though.

That means you have to install it the same place you have Baldur's Gate installed.
