    Alright, here's the deal.

The other day I was playing a game over the internet and some geek kept talking about his abilities as a hacker. He sucked. But that is just my unattetive, bad mouth, noncomformist, negative attitude opinion. I think anybody who has to cheat their way through life sucks. Actually-he hacks. He hacks that goobery green stuff all over the honorable world of gamers. Hack, hack, hack, hack. What do you think of hackers?

I try not to. Avoid them like a you avoid a dog with rabies. In MP games, I might add.

[IMG] I agree anyone that has the adassity to hack his way through a game, has no more right to play it than a chimp. However, once a game is beaten there is nothing wrong with a little hacking to make it more interesting.

I could use a bit of "adassity" myself right now :p.

After having one for a roomate I must say, I don't like hackers.

  5. Hackers are like drow.

    1. They are chaotic evil
    2. They make life hell for anyone who crosses them
    3. They wreck people's lives just for the fun of it
    4. Deep down they are cowards - insecure in themselves, constantly feeling the need to assert what little "authority" they have
    5. Their clothes evaporate in the sunlight

Are you sure you know what are you talking about?
Hackers generally aren't criminals. Your law officers know nothing about computers. Don't tell me you also know nothing.
Anyone can be a hacker, but cheaters are definetly not hackers. Think about it.

Anyway, tell me, what do you think I do when making SoA fixes? Walking? Singing? Killing? F**king? Or it is in fact hacking?
If it is hacking as I see it, thanks for your nice words about pople like me and me especially.

Lastly, when you see someone talking and talking and non-stop talking about how he/she is a kickass hacker... That person is not a hacker. Hacker never says I'm hacker nor my hacking abilities are so d*mn*d COO!

Awsome hacker is that one after downloading lame ShadowCheater.

[IMG]  I just have to say that is the best defensive move I have ever seen Sir Yerril. ROTFL

Hacking is bad when it hurts some people more than it benefits others. Then you can all glue all sorts of more or less plausible definitions on it. Simple aye?.. too simple? :)

Edit again; Anyway Extremist or anyone else on that account.. When is a hacker a hacker? http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/5233.html

[IMG] I know a dumb lady who hacked in the game of life so she got thrown on the street and run over many, many times by the HaveABetterAttitude Truck.

Years afterward she started playing the game again but was ugly, disorientally-large-breasted, with upturned lips and dreary, hazy, sleepy, dripping eyes. She now teaches Band and can't get off Positive Attitude and Its Importance. Notice how much I've learned by my Great Attitude topic smiley.

And if certain members of her faculty are listening, you idiots, her last name starts with B and sounds like something that came off a big dumb monkey plumber. How ironic...

I've known a hacker, and he was pretty cool. Not arrogant or bragging about his hacking skills, but just enjoying hacking in his spare time. I'm sure he could've kicked anyone's ass at any game playing legit. I have no serious problem against hackers. But for crackers, many people get annoyed about what they do. A person who boasts about how great he/she is at hacking has no right to called him/herself a hacker (hackess?)

Oh, and drow are NE and LE, IIRC. ;)

I have to amite that I some times resorte to hacking and slashing. But thats usualy because theirs no story line or thats the only why to get something done.

I'm asoming that we're talking about RPG's and not hackers that hack in to computers.

Actually, I believe that we are talking about people who hack computer games to give themselves higher stats, better equipment, etc.

However, I know several hackers (computer geniuses) who just enjoy fooling around. As to game hackers, if they need to hack to win, they shouldn't play.

Yes, Sapiryl. You got it right. I am talking about hackers that cheat to get better stats, weapons, armor, the usuall stuff.

Oh; I thought you meant hackers in general. Well, in that case. . .

:flaming:I disagree with each and every one of the &%#$>s!:flaming:

There was just a topic like this in the BG forums and wouldn't it be cheaters not hackers what I consider a hacker is someone who like gets into there school profile and changes it or something like that.

In germany we have the renowned chaos computer club - hackers altogether. However, they repeatedly found gaps and security problems and published them, forcing ISPs to correct that. So their hacking and searching for exploits has a positive function. They found a nice term to distinguish their hacking from criminal stuff.
    • hacking - searching for loopholes and security problems and publish them
    • cracking - you get it ... cracking programs, entering foreign systems to wreak havoc, writing destructive programs such as virusses
Hacking is not necessarily a negative thing and I have to admit I partly envy hackers for their knowledge and skill.
