Hey Dargon death metal is NOT kiddy stuff. And it's not 'the latest kiddy craze', it's been around for a very long time already. Is it so hard to be a bit understanding and accept other people's favorite music? :almostmad:

Got to agree with Depaara on The Alan Parson's Project and Supertramp, though it's been a while since I last heared the last one.

Rufus Wainwright is also on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack CD, right? I should check him out sometime.

    I mainly listen to:
    Zero7
    Waldeck
    Kruder&Dorfmeister
    Lamb
    Herbie Hancock
    Art Blakey
    Miles Davis
    Deeelight

Recently started the old U2 again, the Joshua Tree. Also some Simon&Garfunkel.
And I'm looking for King Bee's Back by Dope Demand on CD. I can only find it on 12"

Ancalimon, how many adults do you know that listen to death metal?

Frankly, it seems to appeal to teenagers who are heavily into rebellion.

Well, I know 3 adults (about 30 years old) and many others of my age, and someone who's 21. I'm not a rebellion, just like metal music.

Good to see some others with Dream Theater as their number 1.
As for System of a Down = Death Metal?? Methinks not. Meh, i hate these genre debates.

    For me:
    1 - Dream Theater / Liquid Tension Experiment(1&2)

That's the only thing i'm solid on. Other than that, choose between my other 170 albums and my favourites are in there somewhere. Might include:

Pantera, 36 Crazy Fists, Killswitch Engage, Carcass, Dismember, Decapitate, (HED)PE, SymphonyX...ahh, there are so many. It's hard to choose.

A lot of young folks here who like the screaming music (which is what I call modern heavy metal). But, hey, to each his own! I feel old, though, in that I recognize very few of the bands being discussed. I still like the old stuff, though, and thanks to modern technology, I can listen to it easily (as opposed to the days of 3 radio stations and expensive 8 tracks or scratchy records).

@MoN: Just noticed Zero 7 on your list. I've been trying to remember their name for months now, so that i can go out and get their albums (i was sharing a house with someone who had them, but at the end of last academic year, we all moved away and i haven't had access to the albums).
Portishead compliment Zero 7 pretty well as well.
