I'm guessing only those of you from the UK will have any interest in this, but still :).

Basically, I'm considering going to the Reading Festival this year with some mates - the line up is awesome, but it's £90 to go for the three days. So basicall, what I want to know is: has anyone else here been to the Reading Festival before, and was it worth the money?

Well I didn't actually go to the Reading festival, but I went to the Leeds version of it, which is exactly the same (organisers, line-up etc). £80s a lot but unless you intend on taking a whole fridge with you, you'll need a lot more than that. It was £3.50 for a burger when I was there, plus the beers not exactly inexpensive. However, the atmosphere (minus the riots on the last night :p) was amazing. It's definitely worth it.

The line-up for this year is:

    Friday 23rd August
    Guns n Roses
    Prodigy
    Slipknot
    Incubus
    NoFX
    Puddle Of Mudd
    Hundred Reasons

    Saturday 24th August
    The Strokes
    Pulp
    Jane's Addiction
    Weezer
    White Stripes
    Dandy Warhols
    Mercury Rev

    Sunday 25th August
    Foo Fighters
    Muse
    Ash
    Sum 41
    * special guests to be announced
    A
    Less Than Jake
    Andrew WK

    Radio 1 Evening Session Stage

    Friday 23rd August
    Spiritualized

    Saturday 24th August
    Feeder

    Sunday 25th August
    Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

more bands will be added over the coming weeks

    Dance Stage

    Friday 23rd August
    The Streets

    Saturday 24th August
    none announced as yet

    Sunday 25th August
    none announced as yet

more bands will be added over the coming weeks.

A warning though - don't get to close to the security guards if there are more riots - 2 of my mates were beaten unconscious by them last time.

You can work at the festival, get paid and see all the bands free, get free food, get a safe place to camp etc...

Its not the best job though, you will run around for 12 hours a day putting out peoples tents which are on fire...

Looks like a good lineup though - makes a change ;)
