Anybody know anything about this guy?

    I have these mods installed...

    Upgrade Item
    Unfinished Business
    Banter Pack
    Flirt Pack
hmm... can't think of any more, that's it I think.

But this guy turns up, demanding that I hand over Celestial Fury. Naturally, I directed him towards his bike and told him to start peddling. He said he didn't want to go away. We fought.... damn.

Anyone ever seen this guy? It must be impossible to beat him... I can't even hit him before he decimates my entire party. He's like a F/M/T, with uber skills in all of them.

    Me - Anti-Paladin
    Korgan
    Yoshimo
    Jan
    Viconia
    Edwin

Average level of about 12/13. This guy murders me. Any tips?

I don't want to lose the Celestial Fury, but I just can't beat this guy...

He's from the Tactics mod, and he's extremely tough; damn near impossible at times. Don't hand over the Celestial Fury, however, because if you beat him in battle you get an even more powerful Katana. The tips for this battle are in the Tactics folder in your BG2 installation.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I didn't even know I had Tactics installed...

I'll have a look at the battle tips, but I can't see my party beating this guy :( .

I might just do that tbh...

I added Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options] in the Baldur.ini, but I forgot what to press in game to get the console...
Or do I not need to do that? :S

    EDIT: Ignore me, Sorted it.

EDIT 2: I Don't suppose anybody knows how much experience you get for killing him, do you?

I have killed him, twice, he is not that hard if you are at a sufficient level. When I have tactics installed I dont go pick up Celestial Fury until I am at least level 14-18ish. What you have to do is to keep away from him and let his buffs wear off and try to pepper him with area effect spells. He is actually not all that tough in melee if you manage to get his buffs off. Try to circulate who hurts him though as the sword he carries hurts the one who hurts him. Can kill a low HP mage pretty quickly if you dont look out.

He can be killed, easily or with more difficulty, depending on your cheese level.

Most cheesy involves thief traps, protection from acid scrolls, vhailor's helm, breach scrolls, and missile weapons that have magical and non-magical ammo that also add elemental damage. Also, hide most of your party in some out of the way map area and have your fighter/thief roam around.

Less cheesy just means using fewer of these tactics, although I imagine that there are other ways to win.

If you have a Protection from Acid spell, a True Seeing spell, and either Breech, Pierce Magic, Pierce Shield, of Spellstrike, he'll go down quickly. Protection form Acid is a must though...that Katana of his is a real pain if you aren't the one that's wielding it! :rolling:

    Pierce Magicx1 (if you want)
    Greater Malisonx1
Finger of Deathx AS MANY AS YOU HAVE LVL 7 SLOTS!!

    One dead kensai.

My party is too weak and low level to beat this dick.
I can see me struggling when I get to ToB. I might swap Yoshimo for Mazzy and use Jan for thieving skills, then leave Imoen in Spellhold... hmmmm...

When your party is weak, and you don't mind a liiittle bit of cheese, have him face you outside the planar sphere in the slums. He can't go through the doorway that leads to the actual entrance to the sphere, so you can use it as a kind of drawbridge to send guys out to fight, then bring them back to heal. But at low level, the guy is freaking hard, no doubt about it. LOTS of scrolls of protection from magical weapons. Have your breaches handy.

Heh, the first time I fought him it just happened to be just there. I didnt even intend it and I can tell you, it was not to my advantage. He horrid wilting my entire party except my PC to death in the first round and then I ran and somehow actually managed to beat him. Could be because I too was a kensai/mage.

My tactic is to get him near a building and send every one in except my thief (usually mc with fighter).

When he stays outside with the thief youre set to kick ass.

You will need: Arrows of dispelling, a normal weapon - I use a katana (he hass lots of prot mag weapons scrolls), potions of invisiblity, boots of speed.

Go invisible and wait for his protection from mag weapons to go off, then fire a dispel arrow and get rid of stoneskin and other things, he should put up another prot mag weapons, go invisible and wait for the expirary.

Keep doing this until his stoneskins are gone. Then switch to plain weapon suitable for backstab and keep hiding and backstabbing until he's dead. It should take about 2 backstabs to do, but be quick, he tends to bugger off to fight another day if he gets too injured.

    Hope that helps :)

He flees when the battle lags--i.e., if you run or stall for too long. I don't think he flees based on his hp level, though I could be wrong.

    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/2/7622.html

Why yes, tactics mode is ultra hard, I play it with my old high level PC from ToB finishing, so I intend to achieve AMAZING levels (via xp disabler ofcourse)

I play tactics in insane difficulty! YES, it is ultra hard, just wait to see Bodhi and Irenicus! They are SO COOL!
AND yes, it is big fun!

Use Normal Weapons! You will have to beat on him quite a lot to get through his stone skins, but once you do that, use Normal Weapons to kill the mofo.

Also, I didn't have enough Prot. from Acid scrolls, mostly because he got me unawares, so I just used my tanks in rotation, having Aerie heal them while the other guys got wailed on.

This was during my party game days...when I'm solo...I just timestop+Imprison him! :D

I don't WANT his stupid Katana!
