I've tried playing BG2 on my laptop, which has a wide screen format LCD display.

The ideal resolution is 1280x960, however when I try to get a higher resolution than 800x600, I only get a max of 1024x768.

I CANNOT play at this resolution, as everything is all stretched out, and I'm forced to play it at 1024x768 resolution, in a window!! That sucks!

Help me get the 1280x960 resolution.

PS: I've got an ATI Mobility Radeon 9800 with the latest Catalyst drivers.

It must be a driver problem, I can select 1280x960 with no problems. I use the Omega 2.5.97a (based on te 4.12a)
Can't you change your monitor properties with your driver? Maybe that will help.

I have the same problem with bigger resolutions than 1024x. Since I'm using 17" TFT, 1280x would be ideal (and, IIRC, that is the setting that is screwed up). Same machine, different drivers, problem stays, so it is quite likely a bug. They are unsupported resolutions, after all.

    Fix-pack, anyone?

I'm playing it on my widescreen laptop too... just switch the settings to Window Screen on the Configure menu... the resolutions will come out crisper, but it won't be full screen. In any case, you barely notice it after playing for a few minutes.

@Chev: Yes I did. It came out all garbled though. Could'nt see anything and there were these stripes on the screen of random colors.

And I don't think its the drivers, I got the latest drivers off ATI's website.

    Any ideas guys?
