I think I have to ask this here. I can't get any reliable answers searching about this...

I have in a couple of places seen people saying that you should wait with watchers keep until late in the game. Some say after chapter 7, some say after chapter 9. In one case they say that items there change depending on when you go there. Others say that it's the dialog that changes...

Does anyone here know anything about that? Is there a point waiting that far in the game or should I just go as soon as I feel like it?

It depends if you want to do it all in one time or if you want to do a level and then come back later....
the first level may be done by a party that have done only some quests in order to gain exp and items.
But if you want to go deeper...then you hve to wait until late in SoA....let's say you can complete level 2 after emerging from the underdark. But level 3 and deeper are for high level parties....
    Hope this helped ;)

Unless there are weapons I want for my party, I leave it until ToB. If I want the weapons, I go when I have enough money since these are from the store outside the keep. Rarely have I gone inside before ToB, though the time I did was after we emerged from the Underdark and everyone was of a decent level to survive the first floor.

Lol, take it on whenever you feel like it! Spawns are mostly based on lvl (though some demons and the likes aren't). I've done the entire WK right after leaving Irenicus' dungeon, and If I can, then you can too! :thumb: Mind you that it'll be a chalenge no matter what ;) .

AFAIK the opponents you face there are easier in let's say chapter 2 than ch7 or 9. I don't know about the "bosses" though. Are they harder in ToB than SoA? I don't think dialog or item change according your partys experience.

    Edit: I'm really slow today...

Thank's guys. But... That wasn't really what I wanted to know. Of course I realize it will be harder to do with a low level party but it's the other perks of waiting I wonder about. Will there be different (better) loot there in the later stages of the game or will something else change that will make it better to wait?

EDIT: Anjo, that was what I wanted to hear. I thought it sounded strange to alter things like that..

I don't think there's anyplace in the game where the loot changes based on level. From an RP perspective, it would to me feel mighty unnatural to do say the 1st level of the Keep in chapter 2, which would be quite doable, while leaving the rest for ToB, which would be advisable :)

Personally when I play I normally complete level one of WK just after the meeting with Aran Linvail. This gets me a few decent items, but I leave the rest for late SoA or early ToB because past that some of the gear available is a little inappropriate for SoA.

Maybe after finishing Planar Sphere mod? } :) About 5,3 million xp for each party member and most broken items possible... I don't want to think about how powerful I will be in 8th chapter 0o.
Passing the whole Keep without rest might be funny, anyway -:].

I hit level one of WK right away most times to get the Crimson Dart, the Quiver of Plenty, and the Case of Plenty (I hate screwing around with ammo in this game). Then I leave the rest of it until ToB. You can do it earlier, and the spawns will match your level, but I wait anyway.

Then again I have the hardest spawns possible component, so I usualy end up going to WK later in my games. :mommy: Well, I know the difference between bravery and stupitidy!

I usually replace Minsc with Sarevok (if I brought Minsc along at all). Then I run through Watchers Keep to get him XP´ed up in either the mage or thief dual-class. Chapter 8 seems most sensible to me, since I always bring Sarevok along.

I wait until just before the final battle with Bodhi, after having talked with my allies into helping me, and then I go with WK to help boost me up before the big battles with Bodhi and Irenicus.

However, after reading some of the posts here, I will try giving the first level a crack right away in my next game.

I usually just wonder over there whenever I feel like for the first level or two, then go back to mop up later if I went with a low exp party. There is some nice loot, and the batles aren't that hard.

I leave the Keep until I've reached Saradush, just to get the WK-specific banter from ToB. Unless some mod's changed it so that the banter is available in SoA too?

Meh, I leave SoA to SoA and ToB to ToB ... if that makes any sence at all! Once you get to Saradush you should, well hopefully, be able to smash through the entire keep at once! Fel has a point though, I do like getting those items quite early in the game because it's sooOooOoo annoying with ammo and the like in this game!!! :D
