    Piffle.

I REALLY want the upgraded Mace of Disruption..

But like hell my LG Fighter/Cleric is going to swindle Sarles and the church to get it.

Anyone else have any examples of where being a goody-goody actually hurts you in the game? They're not exactly common, from what I've seen..

Swindle? How are you supposed to know the alloy isn't good enough for Sarles? Besides, the temple is happy enough about the lump of alloy.

In my game, Anomen (who was lawful good at the time) I think suggested that we take the alloy to Sarles.

Actually the temple is happier if you bring the fake to Sarles and he goes away for good, than to actually make Sarles work for the temple.

Try both options if you don't believe me.

And trust me, both options are good options - Sarles is just another pompous ba**ard who needs to be tought some lessons, and his behavior just makes temples "angry" with each other.

    Really?

    Damn ..

Actually, SWEET! I never did like Sarles, but I always got the real illithium for him.

Now, how do you do the quest if you're going to hand out the alloy? Get the alloy, go to Sarles, go the church, THEN track down the real illithium?

Hmm .. so, just a matter of not having it in your inventory, hmm?

But I bet the rest of the quest will disappear if you finish the quest before obtaining the real thing..

Oh well, guess I'll just go with what's recommended in that thread. :)

Actually, I believe that there is a case where being "Good" can be a bad thing. If I remember correctly, in the watchers keep dungeon, the only way to get the thiefs hood is to be evil and side with one of the two demon groups (who are fighting a blood war apparently).

(usually I don't even ask the guy that gives the temple quest for anything, so I avoid that problem entirely.)
(this is the TOB board... yes it is... good)

I don't know why but my Evil characters seem better in battle, is it just me? or is it 'cos I act ruthless when in evil character?, my good character kept getting killed at first, but know she has just completed ToB, right from her humble beginnings...

The Bhodi quest where you can choose the good path or the evil path, I think the evil path is funnier, if you try and spare whats-his-face, Vulova! He runs away, nobles look so funny hasted :xx:

Sometimes it sucks to be good? Nah, correct: It always sucks to be good. Neutral is okay, that way you can have Evil as well and (if any) worthy good NPCs.

    Akay, here I go again.

Evil: Funner, get to do what you want
Powerfull, Hell bonuses are better for fighters (or any other class besides mage)
FunnIER, Korgan and Edwin always seems to crack me up:D
NPCs are more powerfull for evil parties

The only acceptional NPC for a good team would have to be Cerd, even if he is Neutral.
