Kelsey is a fan made sorcerer NPC. Beyond that, I really don't know much about him, but I've heard good things.

If you have used him, please tell me where I can DL him, and what you think of the character. TIA.

Kelsey is probably the most complex and complete NPC mod available. He is romanceable by female characters and is a valuable addition to any party.

A very well made mod and is compatible with the Solafein NPC mod as well.

    He's a rather pleasent fellow - I hate him.

I think Kelsey's a great character to have around. The romance is fun and quite amusing at times, but beyond that it's great to have a Sorcerer along, and there's tones of dialogues and neat banters. He's got a great cloak and is already loaded with a bunch of scrolls etc when you meet him. I'll ad mit his cheery naive disposition can get annoying at times, but he's a lot of fun, and there's nothing better than watching him and Anomen bicker. Finally someone who says exactly what I think about that snot headed cleric.

Sounds like he'll fit perfectly into my party:

    PC Cleric (NG)
    Jaheira
    Imoen
    Minsc
    Keldorn
    and now Kelsey

I get my backup mage (actually, Imoen moves from primary mage to a backup role), and someone who fits the party perfectly. And I'm assuming he isn't as annoying as Nalia (even though I've never heard his voice).

What are his stats like? Sorcerers advance (XP wise) the same as Mages, right?

Haven't ever really given him a chance due of a simple fact:

    PC: Sorcerer
    Imoen: Mage/Thief
    Aerie: Sorcerer (SK ;) )
Viconia: Sorcerer (Shame that Sorc/Cleric isn't possible)
    Minsc: Ranger
    Jaheira: Druid/Fighter

I cannot ditch Minsc because he is my tank (in those few situations summons aren't enough), and Jaheira provides healing and that "second" sword-arm.

If there were an option to choose between two Kelsey "variations" (Sorcerer or Cleric/Fighter, or something), I guess I could fit him in ;) (Prob. Jaheira would get the boot).

Kelsey is very useful, and nicer than that Anomen for the gals to romance, But I had one slight problem from a RP perspective Romance wise.

I was playing a sorceress romancing Kelsey, I thought a bit of sorcerer/sorcerer romance would be cute, and two sorcerers with different spell picks here and there makes for power gaming fun. Well, there's a point where he gets testy with you, due to 'sorcerer angst' and asks you if you know what it's like to be able to throw a deadly ball of flame across a room whenever you want to, or something to that effect (the exact words are a little different). Well, being a sorcerer herself, my PC got mad and threw him out of the party for daring to say that to her, when they've been together for around two weeks or so game time, and he would know she's a sorcerer too. I like to RP as well as powergame, and my character got upset. She'd tossed out Anomen earlier for annoying her, so that girl gave up on romance. Well, I'm now romancing Kelsey as a fighter/mage who didn't get upset, as being a wizard is a choice. But yeah, the poster who said that alternate Kelseys are not doable is right, as much of his story and dialog centers around his being a sorcerer. Except for not being able to romance him with one of my fave classes (sorcerer) due to the girl kicking him out do to RP upsetness, it's a good mod.

Considering I'm playing a Cleric (and a Male one at that), and not planning on romancing Kelsey, this should work fine. :)

I am not too hot on his portrait, there are alternates out there which I will look into.

Agreed on the portrait. I ended up shadowkeeping it to another one from one of the port packs here on sorcererers. Besides that, he is a very useful character for me, though i've only played with him for a little while.

    Ah, thanks for that.

Obviously Suzie has simply never seen Rasta Kelsey. Or the True American Hero version of Kelsey.

...I assure you that the True American Hero portrait could not possibly be meant more in jest than it is. :)

Hmm, anything like that old TV show from the early 80s, Greatest American Hero? For non-American's out there, the show was rather satirical - don't let the title make you think it's some poorly veiled attempt at uber-patriotism.

And thumbs up on Kelsey. He's a good party member, and I really like some of his banters (plus his comment on his sorta "ex"). It's making me think about looking into what it takes to make an NPC.
