[IMG] I want to play SoA/Tob thru again. I'v played with Minsc, Jahaira, Nalia, Vaconia, Krogan. My PC was a female fighter. I play chaotic good or true neutral. Don't want to play evil. At least not now. I'm thinking Jan to replace Nalia and Yoshimo, maybe take Massy. Won't get Krogan without Viconia. I'm also not sure what to make my PC. Male something if I keep Jahaira. I played SoA with Aerial so don't want her. Anomen is out unless he gets less sanctimonius later. Didn't keep him so don't know.

In checking possible NPC's I saw a mod for Solaufein Romance. Has anyone used it?

Why not try Keldorn & Carsomryr +5 ;)
or maybe Haer'Dalis (if you don't want a mage) and Cernd as a druid (he can reach level 14 easely -> Druid Grove)

Why not take Valygar instead of Minsc this time - great scout, can backstab with Celestial Fury and with his high DEX, Gauntlets of Archery and ** in long bow he is actually a great archer as well (don't tank him). And Mazzy with Tasheron's and later Gesen is uber.

Jan is a great mage/utility thief.

    Tank Keldorn with Carsomyr.

And as a divine spell caster I'd go with Jaheira since this is ToB. In early and midgame just give her a strength enhancing item, Sling of Seeking and a good shield and she'll do fine.

As for your PC, well all options are open with this party...

Valygar only has 17 Strength
He needs at least 18 to wield long bows
Or is that with composite long bows only?

It's only composite long bows - and there are a lot of ways to enhance strength in SoA and ToB.

I usually give Valygar the Elven Court Bow in early and midgame and later on - when all my warriors have strength enhancing items - Heartseeker or Strong Arm...

[IMG] Thanks a lot. I'm inclining to: Jan mage/thief. Valygar ranger. Kaldorn paladin. Cernd druid (I want something new so Jahaira is out). Massy fighter. My PC Bard/something for variety. Seems a shame not to have Imoen in at least the end of SoA. After all this work is to find and free her. In ToB I can pick up Saranok. The first time I didn't do well with him. He didn't do anything. Guess I handled him wrong. One of the challengers of SoA/Tob is using your characters right. Also one of the reasons I love SP. Get great ideas from others. You take this seriously. I know it's only a game.

Use Amonen but make sure you don't kill the girl in the murder quest. he gets a +4 (up from 12 to 16) wisdom bonus and changes to lawful good when you get the quest from the radiant order. Also if you do kill the girl, once you do the radiant quest he starts attacking lawful good character (i.e Keldorn).

I find Haer'Dalis great. Except for his "sparrow" thingy ;)

He's not great in anything. But he's good at everything. He has his spins, stoneskins, magics and later when he levels enough improved bard song that he can sing to your party if you feel like it.
He is truly strong, but only if you can use him properly. Thats the trick.

His only drawback would be his constitution. Hence his low HPs. I solve that with girle of something. The one you find in the Unseeing Eye quest down in the sewers.

And his weapons are just plain cool! No +5 weapons(Bah!) special abilities  thats what great. And if you ever need one of +lots, there's always sword of Mask.

Yea - Haer'Dalis has a pretty abysmal constitution score, but the Belt of Fortitude (??) or its potion equivalent can solve that.

He is a decent fighter and spell caster so don't rule him out entirely. Once he starts to get high level abilities, he becomes very useful. Set spike traps, use any item, and improved bard song and you've got yourself a winner.

And I happen to like his "sparrow" talk. :p

First go multiplayer and create a sorcerer and a monk, make them neutral or evil if role-playing. Then pick up Jaheira, Yoshimo, Korgan and Edwin. Crank the difficulty to max and you still kick ass. I Dualed Yoshimo to figter at 11 i think and did all quests before leaving to asyleum... move the save from multi to single save directory.. I'm having so much fun... kill kill kill  :D  :D
