It's my first time through, and I need some advice on what class to pick for my character. I'm looking at a barbarian, since I've heard a lot of good things about them from my friends, but I'm concerned about the inability to wear plate armour and specialize past normal specialization. I'm planning to have him use two-handed swords, so plate armour would be nice, but the single weapon style feat should take care of it, right? Any and all advice will be welcome.

Also, single weapon style will not help any with 2 handed weapons. You should instead get 2 handed weapon style which increases damage, critical range, and speed factor, but not AC.

You mean I wasted a feat for nothing???? Nooooo!! The indignity!!! The insufferable indignity!!!!!!

Fortunately I haven't gone too far, so.... a new game it is, then.

Or you could just use Shadowkeeper to take the slot from single weapon and put it instead into two handed. Yes it is hacking , but not cheating really since you aren't adding feats.

Yeah, I'll do that, since I haven't started a new game yet. Thanks for the advice.

Edit : Oh yeah, does adding more than 2*'s in two handed weapon style affect anything? Based on the description (and a friend), I assume that adding more than 2*'s will not change anything. Am I wrong or am I right?

My pleasure, don't like hacking but its nice to be able to correct silly mistakes. Trust me, I've made enough.

You can't add more than two stars unless you're cheating, in which case I don't think it will do anything, since the game isn't programmed to add abilities to more than two stars.

With the exception of two weapon skill, Menion Leah is correct.

I have not played either, but I would like to go with the Barbarian -- he gets some cool immunities later on, and his berserk was once shown to me to be MUCH better than that of a Berserker.

Yeah, forgot to mention. Two Weapon Style can have 3 stars, but I don't think it would help if you would cheat 5 stars into it...

Thanks for the info. What I didn't realize was that my bro had hacked the game, allowing barbarians to get Grand Mastery, thereby enabling me to put 5*'s into everything. Had a long talk with him after that.

    Cheers.
