Just started and unable to talk to Sewage Golem

    Hi, I just started BG2, and I am unable to talk to the Sewage Golem in the beginning in the game. I have the activation stone, but whenever I try to talk to it, it just says that the Golem is busy. What do I do?

    Download the most recent patch. It fixes the '[npc] is busy' problem. Your save will still be workable afterwards (so you won't lose your crafted char).

    Yeah, you have to get that patch. The bug comes from having Win XP... My friend managed to play the whole game through even with the bug. A heck of alot of saving and loading...

    Quick-Save the game, then re-load it. It should have no problem.(Although there is a time when it doesn't work.... I completed cult of the eyeless quest and I did this thing for 20~30 times and High watcher Osaig won't talk to me)

    I suggest you download the Ease-of-Use mod, Improved Items mod, and the specialized store clerks that sell you must-have items like Robe of Vecna and Shield of Balduran.

    I might disagree that you need to download those extra mods for your first time through as many people have happily completed the game in its vanilla version. The Shield of Balduran is hardly a must-have item as I have never carried it.

    That patch is a must-have, though.

    Harbourboy is right,I think... She/He should play the Game a couple of times with no mods and without walkthroughs. Otherwise she/he will miss all the fun !
