Sorry I can't help you with that since I haven't bought ToB yet..... you might want to try posting this in the ToB forum as well.

I think I saw a similar problem, and I think it was because I did a standard install for BGII - SoA, then a full install for ToB; the system was probably looking for installed files which weren't there.
If that's the case, you will have messed up your system sufficiently that the best thing to do will be to uninstall both, and then reinstall both - either on standard or full install.

No, you can do a standard install on SOA and a full on TOB. I did this, and there were no problems. Maybe your operating system? Not enough hard drive space? Hippees?
Try installing it again, as this is the only thing I can think of, as when I upgraded to Winows 2000, I had trouble with their installation. I forget what I did excactly, but installing it again was deffinately a part of it.

There is a "bug" with SoA whereby, when installing, it will ask you to insert CDx into the drive then click OK. The problem is that it does not seem to check that you have inserted the correct CD and when it does not find the data it is looking for, it simply asks for the next CD. This problem has cause a lot of people to be asked for CD5 when installing SoA and seems to be the cause of your problem. When swapping CDs during the installation process, be sure the CD has stopped spinning before clicking OK. You could also try running the install program from a CD burner if you have one. Good luck.
