Bah! incredible! Why would someone (starting at bg1) play a normal cleric if you can have 18/somewhat strength and ALL divine spells for 1000 exp???

It actually takes 2250, but it's a pretty good buid you're talking about, Tillix. I tried a Ranger, dualled to Cleric in BGI and planned on taking him all the way through. But they get kinda boring, IMHO.

It's very boring (like every overpowered classes) the more so if you like to experiment and start from the beginning of the game over and over again.
Besides to dual a Ranger into a Cleric you need some very high scores in nearly all your abilities. It's really boring.

I wonder if you can dual a Stalker into a Cleric, would this character still get Haste, Protection from Normal Missiles and Minor Spell Deflection?
Beastmaster would be a more challenging option: no CF, no FoA...

@Klorox: for Fighter/Druids dualling at level 9 is perhaps not so rewarding but it is really easy since level 10 Druid is only 160K (it is level 15 which is very hard to reach) it makes the transition between both classes quite swift (I'm going to create a Wizard Slayer/Druid I don't know if I'll wait till level 9 though since I want to dual before getting to SoA, still IMO level 7 is the minimum).

Edit: I just checked it looks like it is impossible to dual a Stalker (or an Archer) so the only option is either true class Ranger or Beastmaster. The Beastmaster gives the Find Familiar ability and a bonus to stealth but prevents the use of metal (armours and weapons as well not even spears!) this may seem like a very bad idea but if you're afraid that the character is going to be too powerful (I know it's not the purpose of this thread ;) ) it seems to be an interesting option (there are many fine leather armours in SoA but the weapon limitation is irksome, not only does it prevent you from using CF and FoA but you are even more limited because of the cleric class: a regular Beastmaster can use bows...)

I found my disk with BG1+TotSC final saves a few days ago and reinstalled BG2+Tob+Ascension.
I had a savegame with a half-elf ranger cleric uber-good rep 20 game which I never used for BG2 before(I used only my fighter and my thief savegames and tried new classes afterwards).

The char has S:19 D:19 C:19 I:11 W:21 Ch:12 and is incredible powerful in melee with righteous magic+draw upon holy power+iron skin.

It's nearly too easy. Maybe I should install a few of these cool weidu mods which make the game harder.

The only main advantage I see between a dual character class and a multi character class when you one of you class is a fighter is that you can achieve a high level in weapon specialization and maybe a higher level in your 2nd character class.
