    Here's the deal. I finished Trademeet, typing up the solution for it now. Question is, can I start Chapter 3, pay my gold and continue with other city quests in Athkatla?

    Playing the game and doing a solution...kills interest sometimes because of the mondane tasks of running around to every place possible.

    Can I spice the story up and still have access to everything quest wise in the city?

    Hmmm... Yeah, I think you can do that, but there's not a whole lot that you do after paying the money before heading off to Spellhold... Just three (IIRC) quests that the Shadow Thief leader asks you to perform (oh, if you joined with them of course; I don't know about the Vampire way). After you complete the quests the thief leader says to hurry up and board the ship to Spellhold; not sure if there's a time limit, but I took a trip to my Ranger stronghold and back to drop off some junk with no problem, so you may be able to hold off indefinitely...

    I'm doing it differently to you, I have done the first 2 tasks that the leader of the Theifs Guild has set and am doing the Trademeet/Druid Grove quest now.

    Got the stronghold in Chapter 2, before I go and fetch Imoen a I am going to try and do most of the quests in my journal.

    Chapter 3 doesn't start until you give what's-his-name the 15K gold. I spent almost 30 game days in chapter 2 doing all the quests I could.

    i went the vampire path, and she will wait for ever for you to come back and get the boat - i paid her the money very early on, and then went off and did everything else i could find before going back - no problem.

    Glad to hear you can do it. I finished the 1st two quests for the thieves but I want to go back and take care of Firkraag (sp?) before I head out.
