[IMG] My copy of bg1 finally arrived from ebay today and im excited guys !!!! .Having finished bg2 and tob once only and a few years ago this will be all brand new to me ( i can hear the envious sighs outhere )I have been researching all the mods and patches outhere and to be honest it has left me a little dazed and confused . So in my infinite wisedom i have decided to go through the game only importing /exporting my posse and completing the series the way mother nature intended xp cap and all . That way i can get a feel for the original story in its purest form . seeing as my posse will be good in nature i feel this ethical descision will only bring me fortune in battle. next time round ill be bad to the bone with every mod under the sun crammed in destroying and pillaging all in my path . As always any thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated ?

About to begin the journey of a lifetime . Dimosthenis.

    WOW!!!!
Good luck in your travel. It will be a great adventure. Sit back and relax...you're going to start one of the most amazing journey that human mind have created....
I'm pleased you decided to go without mods. The first time must be as the creators made the game....even the second time (one good and one evil). Only then you can mod the game (IMO) and not lose any fun.
    Keep in touch!!!

You'll find how different the two games are. Even traveling is very different IMO. In BGI walking gave me a different feeling.
What character are you going to play???
BTW, another suggestion....don't spoil your game too much reading what all the NPC have to offer, or asking early party tips...give yourself time to make mistakes...and learn from them.
Now i feel myself as Gorion!!!! ;)

methinks there's no wizard slayers in BG1... also you have pure bg1 no totsc right? cuz exp caps are different... I'm gona stay away from giving advice, but the BG1 forum is preeeety helpful.

Half-elves can not dual-class, they can use all available multi-classes however, so they are versatile. Only humans can dual-class but they can not multi-class to compensate.

There are no kits in BG1, you start as a pure fighter, you can later re-choose your kit once you begin BG2. If you have TUTU (highly recommended) you can enjoy all the good stuff of BG2 in BG1!

Sil just loves the mods too much ( :p )! Don't play bg1 with TUTU (a mod that'll let bg1 run on the bg2 engine) as the bg1 graphics are part of what bg1 was; the same applies for the other aspects of the game.

But if he reaaly reaaly wants to play as a Wizard Slayer in BG1, he has no choice! I agree with your point though, some may prefer an unmodded BG1 in their first try for that original feeling. :)

Beg to differ, Silverstar. Baldur's Gate Trilogy modifies BG1's engine with BG2's.

Your weapons and gold disappear at the start of BG2. Irenicus not only wants you, he wants your stuff, too! ;)

If you want to keep your stuff, you can try pausing the game while the screen is still black and before you hear your PC cry out. Hit the 'I' key (for inventory) and tranfer all your things to the ground. Unpause and the game continues. When the scene is over, grab your stuff. I haven't figured out how to dump the gold so I can keep that also.
