    [IMG] Oké,
I just started ToB and would like to know something (like we all do ;))
Are there many foes/opponents with a high resistance or with immunity from poison?
I take it the better/difficult enemies are imune to poison or have a high resistance, but I want to know about the average opponent, like the ones that come in groups.

Point is that I want to know if my tactics would work:
I got 4 chars which are immune to poison and 2 which are not, but they use ranged weapons.
I want to cast Cloudkill and Stinking Cloud.
When Stinking Cloud is casted, foes might fall on the floor and be unconsious for a while, so I have a time to whack them.
Maybe I need some Lower Resistance or Greater Malison or other spell to have it done or do you think this tactic is rubbish and advice me to do it an other way?

In short for less intelligent people :D :
Does the average ToB-opponent have a high resistance to poison? If so: What tactics do you advice me?

I don't know about the opponents' resistance to poison, but I do know that they have pretty awesome saving throws, especially against death/poison. So, in other words, they may not be immune but it would be extremely difficult to get those two spells to work. Greater Malison may help but not much. There is always magic resistance to contend with as well.

Mmmmh. Just did some stuff in Watchers Keep. Pretty tough opponents; Fire Giants, Greater Elementals, Demonic Horrors, beasties like that. Not very hard to kill, but the poison thing only worked on the air elementals.
It worked pretty well on Il-Khan groupies too.

I should be among the lesser people,
Terrifying them and causing pain and misery. Muahahaha. (MoN ft. Murray from Monkey Island)

Those spells will only be of help in the first part of the game, when you're swamped by numerous weak enemies. Then again, why use it at all, a death spell is usually more effective.

Its just that I have 4 immune chars and I want to make advantage of it. Or at least do something different then just nothing....or waiting for something poisonous and see I really AM immune to it....

If you have an ability or something special, then use it!
Develope your skills/abilities. Don't wait till something happens by chance...

    Use the Force
(not very into SW, but this seems to be a SW-quote..right?)

Well you can tank around a certain golem type which normally poisons you (forgot which) and you won't get poisoned!!!! You will just get stomped to pieces by them, but hey... not by poison.

Hehe, sorry. It's just, with cure poison or something of the like, poison resistance is pretty useless.

And that would be 'may the force be with you' ;)

Silly you are. Slap you I will, yes... :D

Ooohn Faragon! Hit me with your puncho (Sp?)!! ;)

Being immune to something is better then to cure it. Still I know this poison-thing is almost useless. You need to many Dooms, Lower Resistances, Greater Malison, Pierce Magic....whatever and more. But I gave it a shot.

Any other tips? I got a Cavalier with 135 Fire Res. somebody with 95 Mag.Res.
Give me something unusual. A neat spell trigger combi (something different then Greater Malison, Doom and Death)
I want my whole party to work on the same tactics. I don't want them to fight seperately. If you know what I mean...(probably not)

BtW: I was confusing Jamiroquai's 'use the force' with SW. That would give a weird dancing spacecowboy with a big hat. (as he already is...)

    *Slaps MoN* :p

How on earth did you get a character with 95% Magic Resistance? You're not turning into a cheating bastard now are you? ;)

You could make a Archer only party. With rate at which arrows are fired, stoneskin is a very little problem. You'd just have to find an archer willing to run away from monsters, while others throt arrows in their backs.

When you find enemies who aren't immune to fire, put that cavalier in the midst of them and use up your collection of fireball wands (which you lugged around SoA, but never used, just in case you needed them later (Or so I always do)). With that high resistance he'll only be healed by it.

That reminds me. I found stocking up three fireballs up a trigger and using it against mages very usefull. They're often not protected from such damage.

    Oke oke! I admid!
I used ShadowCheater to get some items from SoA, to start the party with. You can get the items in SoA but I didnt want to start the whole tgame over to begin with some nice equipment in ToB. /me blushes
I got this Cloak of Balduran which doesnt seem to exist at all (IIRC) and it gives me an other 25 Mag Res... Carsomyr gives an other 50 and the Amulet of the Seldarin (10) an a ring, i believe... I'm about to get lost of the Cloak, because I don't feel very comfi in a non-existing clothing-item...make me feel kinda naked.

3 Fireballs in a trigger must be kinda damaging....;)

Tempted by the dark side you are. Slap it out of you I will. Yes... ;) *draws out lightsaber*

With 95% magic resistance, magic is pretty useless against you. :) To balance it, surely you will wear no armor? :p

Three fireballs in a trigger is very nice, and also very usefull against groups, or invisible mages/thieves.
