[IMG] OK installation order for the TuTu and its mods was discussed before, but I intend to have a new, clean Easy-TuTu installation with lots of mods! And I have a few spesific questions unanswered in earlier topics. (yes I know about the search function! :p )

I got most of these mods in my current game but I had a few bugs, some monsters forgot to cast their spells, grey clan quest crashed my game, there was much choppiness and slowdowns in some areas which was irritating.

here is a list I have in mind:

    -BG1
    -ToTSC
    -Patch
QUESTION:Do I need a patch? I had BG1 patch last time, and got ToTSC on top of that, then did not get ToTSC patch. Now, if I get BG1 from scratch, then install ToTSC immediately, which patch should I get? CAre to give a link, there are so many patches, I am confused!
    -Easy TuTu
QUESTION:Do I need any more patches/fixes after installing Easy TuTu? Or can I start adding mods freely? I had none last time.
-Herbs-potions:a harmless enough but nice mod!
-BG1 slime quest:Did not try this before.
-Grey Clan:Ultra cool mod which crashed my game last time. :( Hope it will work without problems this time!
    -Sirine's Call:Small, fun quest!
    -1PP:For obvious aesthetic reasons.
    -BG2 tweaks:Only TuTu components ofcourse!
-Sword Coast Strategems:This is brilliant, Tactics mod for BG1 (sorta!) I did not get all of the components last time, this time I want ALL for maximum pain!
-Easy TuTu spawn randomizer (what does this do, and do I really need it?)

Also, what about BG1 NPC project? I remember some people saying it was buggy, like some NPCs mixing their dialogues, voice sets, etc. And I tried to install it once, but it takes forever and a day to install one component, for some reason. In which order should this mod go? If it is too much trouble I will avoid it.

    Thank you all in advance!

I dont believe you need a patch for it. I reinstalled the original game and Tutu today and it seems you dont need a patch as it runs well enough for me.

Havent tried the slime quest but I am assuming that it should be alright as it is only a small mod.

I installed the NPC project and it seemed to work fine. Didnt take that long either.

So it is enough to have BG1+ToTSC+Easy TuTu? No need for ANY patches, fixes, etc? Hmm, are you sure? :p

OK, so when should I get the BG1 NPC project? Before or after which mod? I think installation order is very important in this case!

EDIT:Oh, a site says you need to patch your ToTSC game before installing Easy TuTu, if it is not Original Saga. Mine is not so I guess I will need a patch! Only, which patch I need?

Thanks for the link, but which of these patches should I get? How can I learn my ToTSC's version? Is it UK or US/Canada? I do not think it is international though. :p

I do not intend to play a multiplayer game, though I may create MP characters in Easy TuTu, do I still need the DirectX patch? :hmm:

Silvestar: If you have game version 1.3.5512 (1.3.5522 with DirectX patch), you don't need patch, else use UK or US version (I think there is no difference).
DirectX patch is not required for playing multiplayer with Easy Tutu.

If you're using SCS (and I'm very glad you are!) then make sure you have the newest version (v4). v3 ran a bit slowly on some computers because the scripts weren't as well optimised as they could have been.

I think I have the latest version of SCS, as I downloaded it after its new version's release date. (Jan 2, right?)

Thank you CamDawg, for the link, it surely helps! I assume the numbers there show the correct installation order for optimum compatibility and minimum bugs?

Ahh, and NPW project conflicts with Sirine's Call. I ask you, is NPC project really that troublesome to use in conjuction with other, many mods? Should I avoid it? And why does it take sooo long to install it, it took more than 20 minutes to install a single component (and it still was not finished!) and I was so bored I quited and had to make a fast, new EasyTuTu installation to be sure. I guess my pre-historic computer is to blame! (it being PIII with minimal memory and all.... :shake: )

Heh, don't thank me. The list was put together by the avid Tutu players there; I just link to it. :) While the list is a pretty good order, still check the notes in the thread as well as the readmes from individual mods just in case.

If you're getting install times of 20 minutes, it's more than likely that the install got caught in an infinite loop--send cmorgan a message or post over in the BG1 NPC forum with some details, because nothing should be coming close to that kind of install time.

I'm currently rolling a Tutu game with BG1UB (beta), BG1 NPC (plus the music and portrait pack for it), BG2 Tweaks, Sirine's Call, a dash of SCS, Finch, jastey's Slime Quest, Song & Silence, TutuGUI, and Ascension64's Restored Text Screen Music. BG1UB and BG1 NPC restore some of the same content so I'm expecting a few conflicts between the two. I also left out Divine Remix, usually a staple of my games, because I wanted to get a feel for an unmodded Finch--Bons (Finch's author) has talked about DR putting together a Deneir kit for her.

BG1 NPC project works fine with most other mods.
    Incompatibilities are:

    - Sirine's Call;
    - four components of BG1 UB: Kagain and the Bandits, Shar-Teel and Angelo, Kivan and Tazok, Branwen and Tranzig.

The last version, V12, installs within five minutes or so for me. I'd try it, at least once. You'll never be looking at BG1(EasyTUTU) the same way again. :)

And if you drop in and pm me, I can provide you with an internal version still in testing, which should make it possible to use Sirine's call as well as The BG1 NPC Project... as well as make a darned stable run through BGT, if that is your install-of-choice. I want to get a public Beta 4 released, but we are still cleaning up some BGT work, need documentation updates, and are still tweaking some encounters.

about that install time: we have no reports of anything taking longer than a few minutes, even on PIII Win98 installs. The process takes longer on Tutu v4, because we have a series of patches to v4 that are never processed on EasyTutu (since Macready fixed them! we just added them to make sure the v4 installs had the same materials). Please do contact me if you are experiencing problems!

Macready has a new version that has the option to "eat" your BG1 install if you want, which takes a good deal less space.
