Actually at the moment I am more worried about the enemies I will face before the Ascension's final (if I will make it so far).
Melanthium (the super Sorcerer from Planar sphere mod)and his minions,Super Firkraag,Improved Faldorn (I have the multiple strongholds comp.so I will have to fight her and not Cernd) and then Irenicus,imp.Demogorgon,imp.Sendai...

There are many hard battles out there for my cleric.

Agreed. I've never fought Melanthium or Super Firkraag but the others shouldn't be too bad, I'd imagine. It's the sheer number of hitpoints to reduce in the final battle that will make it challenging, in my opinion. You can surely find work-arounds for the others.

As an aside, I believe you can still have Cernd fight Faldorn even if you are a Druid or have said component installed.

    Melanthium:

Melanthium is easy to defeat, you MUST survive his MANY attacks, and also bring him to near death. He casts his Infinity Shield which makes him immune to everything, once it goes down, bash him; BUT you must survive his arsenal of heavy spells; like Melanthium's Rain of Terror, or Sorcerous Bolts, or others.

These spells do heavy magic damage and bypasses MR. So equip the belt of inertial barrier and gulp those spiffy potions which give magical damage resistance bonus, and makes you succeed your saves. You can basically make yourself immune to his spells, by having %100+ magical damage resistance and protect yourself with Deathward and Shield of Archons, just in case.

    Improved Faldorn:

You need AC. You will die without good AC. So gulp potions of stone form, defense, agility, and absorption. Ansorption potion is very nice as it makes you immune to lightning and grants +10 additional AC vs blunt; if I am not mistaken her shape-changed form still uses Staff of Thunder and LÄ°ghtning, so absorption potion is GREAT. You may want to bring one companion (Cernd), who will hand you some items like cloaks, rings, shields, HELMETS (watch out for her criticals!), and you will be ready to kill her. Just run fast, with the help of some oil of speed udner your heel, so she won't melee you. Every each round cast a Holy Smite and pray that she won't hit you; with all heavy buff it is more likely she will miss. HS hurts her good enough, or bash a few times if you don'T risk getting hit. Eventually she will fall. Hopefully.

    Imp. Sendai:

Well you should stay invisible as long as her 4 Project Images are alive. Gulp potions of protection from everything while waiting. Once PIs are gone, Sendai will attack you via her specail harm, if you don'T have Shield of Arcons you are D-E-A-D. Then you should kill her but I am not sure HOW you can manage to kil her, her special servants are very dangerous, thjey like casting comets/triggers to non-stop; so first dispel their protections and then release a few Fire Storms to them, FS ignores MR and does nice damage, but I still guess you may end up getting yourself killed pretty quickly. :(

    Imp. Irenicus:

Oh my! This will be so damn hard!

Drop your nice stuff like Amulet of POwer, Cloak of Cheese, Crom faeyr to the ground before activating the final tear, once JonBon comes and talks, and goes away pick them up. You will NEED them, otherwise Dragon of Pride will drain your levels so quickly it won't be funny. I don't know how you will beat all fo them though. Get a Simmy via Vhailor's helm and have him summon LOTS of tough things like Aerial Servants and Devas and all. It will be hard, though if you can beat the first round, it iwll be easier.

In the second round, grab your things ASAP, turn into Slayer yourself and slash through Jon's Slayer form; your left-over summons will be very helpful and luckily you can kill him...

The last round is hard, as you can't dispel his protections. But equip the cloak of cheese and he won'T do a scratch to you, just watch out for his FoDeath, Chaos and Symbol spells! How you will kill him, is beyond me for now AS he is practically invincible for a pure cleric. :wail:

    @ Silverstar

Thanks for the suggestions.I have already in mind tactics for any of the above enemies, though I must see them in practice :D

Melanthium: the only damage that seems to bypass any protection are his sorcerous bolts. He casts them like m.missiles and on insane can kill quickly. With protection from every element (scrolls), magic damage as you said and the use of rod of resurrection I hope to survive waiting his shield of oblivion to run out.

Imp. Faldorn: I will fight her without equipment although she doesn't.Here only energy blades can kill her quickly and shield of the Archons or MR will protect me from Nature's beauty. No spell can affect her.

Imp. Irenicus: The only problem here is the protection from magical weapons of Irenicus.Even with my fighter GWW attacking with normal weapons could kill him quickly despite his continuous teleporting-healing.But this is not an option for the cleric. But I have sthg in mind,we will see.

    @ Aahz

The Barbarian solo is still going; I switch between games all the time. If I played one straight through without starting another, I'd probably go mad. I have about four running right now but I won't have much time to play for a while. School work is keeping me far more busy than I should like. Perhaps this weekend, but I won't likely get to play until then. Keep us updated on your cleric though -- it should be a good read.

Well my school keeps me occupied too, and I am far, far away from my home which is in another city. I try to visit each two weeks, if it does not snow heavily I will be at home this weekend and play BG2 for HOURS, oh I REALLY want that!

I gotta finish my DS run, but I don't want to, I amy cry! It is so fun, I love my companions, I love the power at my hands!

BUT I need to start my BARDIC (cute!) run too. But when?

Oh this is all so exciting, I LOVE this game!...and my mods!

Yes, keep us informed about your progress guys, I really appreciate your courage of soloing. Maybe one day I can too, don't know when. ;)

It's really not as difficult as you might think. Knowing how the game goes helps a lot and especially knowing what items are out there. Even on battles that you've never done before, go get yourself smashed a few times and you can think of a workable strategy for them even with a solo character that can't cast Timestop ;) . I highly suggest the run, at least. Going back to a party (especially one with particularly powerful classes) feels like cheese. :p

I will make another thread for my cleric-solo, because it would be off topic here.

    Hehe I found another one:

The Mix-Mod v.5 and especially one of its components: 5) Tougher Enemies.

Now this component is like the Heart of Fury mode of the IWD game and can be even ''worse''.

    From the Readme :

This component is meant to be an alternative to things like Tactics mod. It will boost the abilities of all your enemies (note that all player controlled/allied creatures should be exluded,
though strange coding by game devs in few places may give these bonuses to summons etc., but this'll be extremly rare)
Enemy creatures will get bonuses to:

    HP
    AC
    THAC0
    SAVE THROWS

This component has several subcomponents, so you'll be able to choose how big the bonuses are, you can freely change those mid-game with no problems
Each subcomponent boosts HP by 25% (from 25-150% bonus), with each 25% HP bonus comes +1 to AC/THAC0/Saving throws

    These are the subcomponents :

(+ HP/THACO/AC/Saves added to ALL enemies)

    1) Add 25%/1/1/1
    2) Add 50%/2/2/2
    3) Add 75%/3/3/3
    4) Add 100%/4/4/4
    5) Add 125%/5/5/5
    6) Add 150%/6/6/6

Meaning that with the # 6 subcomponent installed f.e. Melissan will have 1250 HPs and an additional - 6 to THACO, AC and saving throws  :mommy: Just scary

I have also updated the list with the challenging mods in the first page.
If someone has any other similar mods to suggest please do it.

Just...just where did you find it? Is it new? Must be, as I never heard it.

Is it %100 compatible with our heavily modded games? Cos if it is, this is what my worst nightmares (or, wettest dreams) come true...HoF mod (kinda) for BG2!

Oh I should wait a little to be sure first though.

EDIT:I see you have already asked those question in the mod's forum, thetruth, so please keep us informed if answer arrives! ;)

No it's not new.Click on the link for more info.
Also it can be applied to ALL the games which use the IE ;) (BG,IWD,PST)

But I am not sure what PC you need to beat BG2 with all these mods installed :D

Yes yes, checked the page throughly and realised it is nearly a year old. A shame then, why did we never notice it? Is it buggy?

Oh, one hitch though. It sure beefs up enemies a lot, but I guess it does not add extra XP. Not quite like the wonderfull (!) HoF mods of IWDs then? :p

Improved Irenicus and co. (the Wraith of Wrath will have an AC of -31  ),imp.Abazigal,Melissan ...
