Romance bugs (?)

I've got the latest Darkest Day installed and patched, and some ease of use mods. I'm not using a multiple romance cheat. My main character is a human paladin, and I'm in chapter 3.

Jaheira and Aerie have both been in my party since day 1, and it is now day 71. Aerie has never had a single lovetalk. Jaheira's lovetalks stalled at least a couple weeks ago (game days). Both have RomanceActive values of 1.

Any idea what's wrong or how to fix it?

Have you installed the official patch and the Baldurdash fixpack ?

The Jahaira romance sometimes won't continue until you rest in a 'wilderness' area (e.g. outside Nalias' Keep)

 

I have installed the official BG2:TOB patch, as well as the latest TDD patch. I have not installed the Baldurdash fixpack. In fact, I've never used the Baldurdash fixpack. Is it compatible with TDD?

I've rested several times in the wilderness, trying to get Jaheira to talk, but no dice.

 

Have you done the harper quests?

 

Ease of Use has a multi-romance component. Check to make sure that is not installed. I think TDD might as well.

Have you saved Jaheira from the bandits and killed Galvarey yet?

 

if you think the mods youve got cause problems you should try the redemption mod for TOB. more bugs than an ant hill.

The multi-romance component of the ease of use mod is not installed. I know that's buggy, so I passed on it this time. I've already done the bandit quest, as well as the harper quests, including killing Galvarey.

What confuses me is that I'm still at a RomanceActive rating of 1 for Jaheira--shouldn't I be at 2 by now? Also, if Jaheira's RomanceActive value is only 1, then Aerie's lovetalk should be active, right? Why isn't Aerie talking either?

An NPC will not romance if you have started alread with another NPC and have got past a certain point.

You do know romances tun on real time and not game time, don't you? And try resting in the umar hills - that place is the least bugged.

 

Yeah, I know that new romances won't start if you are far enough along in another. But I picked up Aerie immediately after doing Chateau Irenicus, and things hadn't even gotten started with Jaheira at that time. I'll try resting in Umar again.

 

What are the lovetalks at?

 

Jaheira is at 53, Aerie is at 1. Maybe that's too far along for Aerie to start talking now, but Jaheira was only at 1 or 2 when Aerie joined the party, and Aerie has never said anything.

The romance with Jaheira never went anywhere. Finally got to RomanceActive = 3, so I kicked her out of the party. Then she says I'd better go to the Harper Hold so I don't make a liar of her... Huh? We killed Galvarey weeks ago! Anybody know what could be causing her to think I flaked on that quest? What settings have I missed, and/or what should the right settings be?
