    Hi everyone,

I don't know if this tactic has been mentioned by anyone else, but i find it quite useful.

After i have sent my rogue forward to examine what's ahead, and especially if i can make use of a narrow path (e.g. dungeons, bridge etc), i recall the rogue back to the squad, cast a Haste Spell and then i send her again to the villains. After she is seen by the majority of enemy creatures and she makes the first move, she proceeds towards the squad. There i have the sorcerer cast a Resilient Sphere and as all the monsters attack only the rogue, the rest of the party is free to attack.

This tactic has also worked well in open spaces, but there i use a hasted sorcerer with an invisibility sphere, he then moves next to the monsters, cast a few fireballs (plus the other fiery spell that doesn't hurt the caster) and then runs back, but not too close, to the squad and casts Resilient Sphere on him. The rest of the squad (fighter, paladin, rogue with ranged weapons and wizard with spells) finish the job.

So far (i'm entering the Black Raven monastery) this tactic has proven very useful.

    John

Yep, this is a great tactic. Although the official patch may spoil it for you, as monsters don't mindlessly attack you any more if you have Otiluke's sphere on you, but go on to unprotected members of your party.

    [IMG] Hi everyone!

I have an idea then, since they go after your unprotected characters, cast Otiluke's Resilient Sphere on your whole party! :D :p

I have two tactics i generally use, the first tactic for most of the game has been to scout with my rogue, then when i find a group that is rather large, i walk back so i can just see the closest enemy, stand my wizard behind my rogue and fireball the edge of my field of view. Then charge in with my paladin, fighter/barbarian, druid and bard (playing music). Theif then goes in and backstabs anyone who presents a threat (mainly spellcasters)

The other tactic has been to scout with rogue, then have the rest of my party (and the rogue) equip ranged weapons, then pick enemies off from range. Usually my paladin and fighter4/barbarianX pull their sword/axe and charge after one or two arrows.

[IMG] Welcome to the boards, both JohnGr and White Lancer!

The Otiluke tactic got me thinking...
Retreat until you find a very narrow passage and then place your character with least damage dealing potential so he blocks it, then "Otiluke" him. Now the meleeing monsters either have to dispel Otiluke's or temporarily withdraw and the odds of that happening isn't good. Instead they're likely to clog the passage and make great AoE spell targets. :)

Tjhat would be a good tactic, especialy since you got a lot of narrow spaces in the game... :D

This is at least better than placing a hidden halfling in a narrow passage to stop your enemies .... and watch them succumb in a hail of arrows and bolts .... :shake: .... thanks for the hint :shake:
