newbie questions on IWD2

    I cleared out the Horde fortress with no spells at all. Actually I even cleared the entire Ice Temple with only a few low level devine spells for the Sherincal battle.
    I hope I dont need any arcane spells till the dragon fight.
    All you need is a high AC char up front and a high damage one standing behind.
    Spellcasters become useful after they achive L10 or so only.

    Sherincal was damn hard ofcourse. She had all three of my party members down to single digit HP and I had to resort to shooting her with arrows.
    Makes you wonder, why was a half-dragon with wings unable to out catch up with someone in full-plate dragging his beaten body.

    Blunt weapons. Also the Ice Palace crystal golems seem to take additional fire damage. One of the shades haunting the Ice Wall, iirc Varsilius, drops a mace which does 1D8 blunt & 1D6 fire damage. Perfect for dispatching crystal golems.
