Hey, guys. I just wanted to give a HUGE thanks for making Icewind Dale II playable for me. Your slowdown patch worked like a miracle in the goblin warrens.

I had actually uninstalled IWDII because of the horrible lags there and in the jungle. I was hoping that the issue would be addressed in the latest official patch. Yesterday, however, I reinstalled and got the patch only to find my ONE problem with the game still there... Turning to the boards, I discovered a link to your patch and thought I'd give it a try. THANKS A MILLION!

I haven't tried the jungle yet, but I believe I've got my old saved game on a disk somewhere. Since the patch fixed the warrens though (the worst of the two), I'm sure the jungle is fine too. Here are my specs which have handled all previous Infinity Engine games:

1Ghz Pentium III Dell Dimension L1000R
    20GB HD
    384MB SDRAM
    Geforce 2
    SoundBlaster Live!
    *Current Drivers

Icewind Dale II is WAY too good to be held back by sloppy programming. Thanks to your little fix, I can finally enjoy my two-month-old purchase.

For those of you looking for the same fix, here's the link I used: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index_editors1.php

Hmmm. Not sure how the file name got left off... Sorry 'bout that. THIS link should work:

I should have caught that before I posted. Thanks for the catch, Quint. I'm sure this file will help a lot of people, judging from different message boards.

    Merry Christmas!

[IMG] May i offer my sincere gratitude to the pair of you, the patch helped me get through those goblin warrens (haven't got to the other areas yet). While it's fun to kill hordes of gobbos it isn't fun having to wait half an hour for them to hit the ground lol.

    Thanks :thumb: !

[IMG] I just downloaded and installed the slowdown patch First off, thank you for creating it!! That slowdown was driving me up the wall. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with it. The patch itself seems to work --- the game returns to normal speed --- but as soon as I hit the inventory button, the game crashes. It just ends, and I'm back at the Windows desktop. Has anyone else had this problem? The only time it crashes like this is when I hit the inventory button. Very strange.

I'm not home, but I'll try to log on as much as possible (don't ask how).

Anyway, for inventory screen crash, please open IWD2 configuration utility and drop the color depth to 16. If that doesn't help, check if it happens when you're playing the game in window mode (press ALT+ENTER to toggle modes while game is running). If it does crash with 16-bits color and in window mode, reinstall the game. But one question, do you have the official patch installed? If not, install it.
