I was wondering how difficult it would be to create a half-dragon mod (difficult due to graphical appearance, ECL...). Has anyone thought about doing this? Also, I know it would seem strange with IWD2's plot in mind, but how about the Githzerai or Githyanki? Or even Abishai?

I guess it's the same as with BG2, since it's the same engine. You could, if you want, change the model in Dalekeeper, and create a custom kit for it. Probably. :hmm:

/Me steers clear of IWD2 -just got sick full of it. :nolike:

Any idea how to create a custom kit?

    Cheers!

Ive always wanted to make a half-dragon too. Wouldn't it be cool?
There is a link to kit creation on one of my topics I put up. You should find it easy within the past 30 days somewhere.

Edit: The past 30 days on the Baldur's Gate Shadows of Amn message board :)

You might take a look at the ease-of-use mod. The improved druid powers portion of that mod includes some Half-Dragon shapeshifts (four, iirc) that are VERY nice.

I can only say one thing. I like the idea an fully support you. Half-Dragons are cool. Maybe Half-Drow next?

Thank you for the suggestion (Ease-of-use) - have already been using it. And thanks for the encouragement. I've also been looking at the tutorial over at Gibberlings.
Yet unfortunately, being new to all this modding, I feel slightly out of my league, particularly after downloading and browsing the NearInfinity program (to create either a subrace or subclass); I'm afraid of changing anything because I might screw the whole game up. Where do I start?
Are there any other tutorials on the net that are more newbie-friendly (and go 'back to basics')? Or should I be using a different program for modding? Essentially, how does one learn how to mod?
I appreciate any help you guys got to offer.

You can find a lot about modding the Infinity engine at Team BG.

You can find them at http://www.teambg.net

    Good luck!

Thank you Drugar. I've checked it out and have been familiarising myself with the system (gonna use NearInfinity). Got plans to make a Githzerai subrace, a Zerth kit, and some customised items. I don't know how long it's gonna take; I may be old and grey by the time I finish! Cheers

Very quickly, I've been having no problems with kit creation. But subrace creation is another issue. I've had a look at Mortis' 'Race Simulation Guide' at Teambg but was wondering if there was a slightly more in-depth and easier to understand subrace creation tutorial out there on the web (for iwd2 specifically if possible). Thanks!
