I was going to build a pally / sorceror since both rely on Cha. But with the Mystra order you can do a wizard and still have flexibility to advance as a paladin. The pally / sorceror combo almost seems like an exploit. But the stats on my paladin of mystra are so spread out.

I'm thinking of a 60/40 -70/30 wizard / pally ratio. I'm running a party of four so I think I should be able to get fairly high in both categories.

Does this make sense, or should I just get over myself and build a pally 4 / sorceror X.

[IMG] I certainly prefer the Pal/Sor.
How do you intend to distribute the stats on a Pal/Wiz? I think you should have at least max Str and Cha for melee purpose and that big save bonus. To raise any other stats this means you need to lower one stat in order to raise another.
Dexterity - You probably don't want to lower this stat on any character.
    Constitution - Less HP's?
Intelligence - You must have 11+ to cast wizard spells.
Wisdom - No Paladin spells unless 11+. Lower Will saves might be acceptable on a high Cha Paladin though.

Yes, I also wonder why those "compatible" class combinations (eg for Paladins and Monks) are so restrictive, and I dare say, so mediocre. What's wrong with making the most powerful combinations the "natural" ones? Or maybe the 3E designers didn't see those combos.

Same thing with Favoured Class. So limiting. :nolike:

I don't know about monks but the pally / sorceror does seem unbalannced compared to other classes - combinations.
