[IMG] Well... I seem to have run into a bit of trouble. *sigh*

What occurs is this, I have finished Spellhold and want to take a ride with our dear friend Saemon, but when the ship is attacked, and the 'loading' screen pops up, I get frozen in a 'You do not have Disc 4 inserted in Drive e:bad:'. No matter /what/ I do from there, I am just simply stuck and can't get further. I've installed all BGII and ToB Patches(Playing the entire thing through now), and I don't know how to fix the problem. The disc 4 looks fine, and I've done a Full Install so this shouldn't even happen... but it does. The Baldur.INI reads correctly for a Full Install but... it just /isn't/ working!

Any help you can offer would be appreciated, No fixes for the problem at Kevvy's and I thought I remembered reading something like it in the past. If anyone is able, please assist.

[IMG] Never heard of such thing...

What I can suggest is that you UNINSTALL EVERYTHING, then install SoA ONLY with patch - and install ToB when you are near finish of SoA. OK?

I don't know if your saved game will survive this since you installed ToB.

If this doesn't help, then try installing the whole thing - without any patches.

    NegaDruid,

three other things you could try :

    - delete everything from the cache/data sub-directory and

    - check the contents of the CD4 sub-directory on the hard drive against the files on CD4 to ensure *all* the files were copied. Copy over to the hard drive any files that are missing and/or corrupted.

    - if the above fails, try a 'recommended' install, then copy the remaining files from the CDs to appropriate directories on the hard drive. Finally manually edit the baldur.ini file to reflect the changes. (the bioware site has comprehensive directions on how to do this if you're unsure)

    [IMG] WOOOO!

I was able to find the problem. Seems that possibly, when it was first installing, the contents of the Fourth CD were not written over onto the Hard drive... ...for some /very/ strange reason. I just copied and pasted over the files that were missing... ...all the Area files and all that in the 'Data' Folder, and it worked fine. My suggestion is, however, to anyone in the future with this problem not to overwrite anything all ready in the file. The CREAnim.bif was overwritten when I did that, and I've been having some /small/ animation glitches, but nothing major. Mostly this occurred in the Sahgauhan(sp?) City, the Underdark has been normal so far.

Thanks for all your help, Guys and Gals, and especially Extremist & Kezardin. Most appreciated.
