Importing characters

    Can you import icewind dale 1 and heart of winter
    party in the icewind dale 2?

    Nope.

    You start with a party of level 1 characters.

    Also, IWD1 is a D&D 2e game, whereas IWD2 is a D&D 3e game. Somewhat different rules, which is first apparant with the number of stat points that you have to give each of your characters.

    About the best you could do is to try to somewhat closely (as much as possible) recreate your characters' stats and reuse their portraits from IWD1 which also exist in IWD2.

    IWD II is not a continuation of IWD. I believe there is about a 30 year time difference between the two. From a role play prespective your original party would be at best in their 50's or 60's human years.

    Nakia is correct, Arrow. The events of IWD1 are referenced at times during IWD2, mostly in the 2nd half of the game. Sometimes rather obliquely, sometimes far less so.

    Not everyone play pure Elf parties ;)

    And thus we come back to the age long discussion that elves should be able to in these games to just lie down and rest and sing poetry for a few hundred years and wait until the bad guys are retired and just fix things up real easy afterwards.
