As you could see in news, BG2:ToB got the best expansion pack in 2001 title.
    Runners-up in that area are
    - C&C: Yuri's Revenge
    - Diablo II: LoD
    - EverQuest: Shadows of Luclin
    - The Sims: Hot Date

But there is another thing that can't be placed in news: RPG of the year.
SP covers only d&d stuff and PoR got nothing so I'll post here GameSpy's "a must have" RPGs for those interested in that.

RPG Game of the Year: Dark Age of Camelot

    RPG Runners-up:
    - Wizardry 8
    - Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura
    - Anachronox

Just one note on this: Dark Age of Camelot is MMORPG and as such I won't ever play it. I prefer single player RPGs and never play online. Placing multiplayer game no matter it's genre between single player games seems as lame thing to me. Then again, who am I to question that...

Anachronox and Final Fantasy are two TOTALLY different games.

Anyone who said they are alike, definetly doesn't know how one of these games look.
