    [IMG] Ok first im sorry if this is the wrong place but It seemed the best place to post this, anyone who has used the nwn toolset knows it is one of the most powerful tools an rpg fanatic that likes his own stories better than other peoples can use. I am going to undertake the task of making a somewhat related to baldur's gate game with it, focusing on the path of chosing being a mortal, but as people know, nwn...doesnt..really support large partys (which sucks) so it will be based on you and your lover. What do you mean? :confused: you might ask. what have you been smoking? :confused: You will ask. Well I havent been smoking anything, at least I dont think I have, you never can tell with these drugs now days eh, lol. And because the way nwn is set up I will get all the party members from bg2 and put them together in an abysal plane, you get to choose whom you want to take. I am an awesome story writer, 93.2% average in LA for my writing abilitys, and I love a good story. This will mainly be based upon, female romances since, I couldnt stand writing male dialouge for anomen, etc...... *shudders*, but I will write dialouge for the famales, except vicona, I have never done her romance so I have no clue what she is like. It will mostly be based, romance wise, on Aerie and your child (if you had one) but as you should know nwn aurora engine is nothing like bg2, and the DnD rules wont be the same it will seem alien for veteran bg players. But it is the story that counts, not the graphics or the rules. Now the big question.... WHAT!! If you start after killing mellisan you will be lvl 40, hey its just a game, I'll set the starting lvl to 10. Any ideas or if you want to take the task of writing the other..romances..Ahem...*shudders*, just pm me. No offense to anybody just stating my opinion, the right to free speach eh.

    You do realise that NWN2 is coming out in a few months, right? ;)

    Might it not be a good idea to get planning and start working on it once NWN2 is released? You could even start working on the core scripts and dialogues, as most of that stuff should transfer over.

    Have you thought much about the story? Could you give us a snip?

    I'm quite curious what becomes of one of the most powerful mortals ever to walk the face of Faerun, he who had god-hood in his grasp, but turned it away. Perhaps it's just my limited creativity, but how do you top the climax of BG II TOB?

    1. yes I know NWN2 is coming out but I already have a module ready for that, its called the Fate of Faerûn, I have the plot made and I will do scripting and dialouge as it comes along.

    2. I can give you a snip. You are teleported to a temporary abysal plane to get your companion Aerie. You then leave to find yourself in Daggerford, a town in between Waterdeep and Baldur's gate, along the trade way road.

    (link to map of faerûn: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/wd_maps/FRposterLarge_150.jpg)
    If you go into the tavern to find adventure and quests to do you are awed and feared by all in the tavern, but suddenly confronted by a man needing help. He was sent from his kingdom (Cormyr) to find help fending off an undead army, if you accept you may travel there and have many quests along the way, as you get closer you have more and more undead encounters, once in cormyr you go to its castle (Tilverton) and meet the lord, he then asks you to go find the cause of the army, he points you in the direction of the Thunderpeaks mountains to the east of the castle. You have more quests and battles while on the way and while underground in the mountains, then you meet an undead necromancer by the name of Azibal Mortisial, who is very powerful and is in the process of taking over cormyr, he recognizes you as none other than a bhaal spawn, he had hunted you down before but couldnt seem to find you due to an annoying little vampire and mage (sound familiar) now he has the pleasure of killing you himself (big fight) he is destroyed only to be resurected by his magic. the quests go on fighting him trying to find out how to kill him, you find out how to kill him and then you have a really big fight and finaly win, but this will take a lot of thinking and planning, going to arcane librarys, temples and ruins will help. You finaly kill him and its over, big suprise ending that you wont want to miss. Over the time it took to write this I changed my mind :) , im making this for NWN2 because it will have a map system similar to bg and its graphics will be better, plus I would rather use a hight map than tiles, in nwn it looks to blocky, I have used many map editors that use hight maps and it is a lot better than tiles. (Mech commander 2, command and conquer generals, and another game I cant quite remember since its been so long) :)

    So, just my take here, but I personally have a hard time swallowing that some random wizard is going to give the Bhaalspawn too much trouble. This wizard is quite feasibly challenging the most powerful being in Faerun at this point, and without some stellar story telling, I think that those who are familiar with where the BG saga left off are going to have a difficult time accepting this as a logical progression in the Bhaalspawn's life. To me, it sounds like BG2 never happened, and now you're trying to create BG2, not BG3.

    I'd find it much more appropriate if a trio of lesser dieties were coming after the Bhaalspawn. That seems much more likely a challenge for BG3.

    Also, for all the side quests you mention, will you be giving the player the option to simply hire adventurers to carry out the tasks for you? As one of the most powerful and well resourced mortals alive, you are well above doing fed-ex tasks for people, and can probably delegate these tasks to some of the loyal followers who surely follow you around as if you're a god.

    Anyhow, just my take. These comments were intended to be constructive, so hopefully you'll take them as such. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

    Hey, I havent given the entire story, its called a surprise, maybe there are more enemys maybe less, might even be coruption from the inside like yoshimo besides the entire story would take 10 posts or a text document download. What I put here is just the base line of the plot think of it this way here is what I put:

    -----------------------+
    Main story line with ending

    This is the end of the module:

    - --- =
    ----+----==----+---=---+
    ++++++++++++++++++++
    _-_-_-_-_-==---------+--
    - =-=-=

    each one of those symbols is a branch of story line. I write the story as I go, I dont need to edit a rough copy of a story because as I make the good copy I add stuff as I go. Im just one of those people.

    Besides I am a role play fanatic, Its not just hack and slash, there will be tricks and traps, maybe you fight a demi lich that is invincible. Use your brain, its an undead, hit it with a mace of disruption. if you dont have one, impravise I will be placing things everywhere, maybe theres a switch that drops a boulder on the spot that its standing on. you will have to go to town librarys and arcane librarys to find out how to defeat your enemy, if you dont already know how. Such as
    player1:
    Encounters vampire gets attacked, kills it but it gets back up, kills it again, gets back up. runs and goes to library, finds out stake it in the heart or cut its head off and burn the body and head in diferent piles.

    Player2:
    Encounters vampire, had a feeling they would be here, brought a silver cross, vampire cant attack without hurting itself, player2 kills the vampire and stakes it, then pours holy water on the remaining coffins to prevent any more vampires from coming out.

    Those fed ex tasks of runing to the other side of faerûn to get a...berry or somthing just to get back and the dude had one in his closet will not be in there. But....there will be some, (get me this) type quests, that result in you being the tool of some evil/good plan depending on alignment and LOTS of TRAPS. I love traps, you have to think to play an rpg. There will also be some puzzles, just to make sure your brain isnt rotting as you play the game.

    And thanks for the feedback

    Why not have the story based on the child with Aerie and not the PC from the BG series. This way you can create a very open ended story of your choice.

    Well I was thinking on it but I changed my mind because I wanted to continue the Aerie romance. Your child will be in the module. As a baby in your invintory and later on a child that follows you arround like a henchman.

    It may just be me, but I find that for someone who is an awesome story writer, your use of language and grammar inhibits your ability to get your point across. Now I am no grammar nazi, (and certainly make mistakes myself) but personally I find your posts hard to follow.

    This wouldn't normally be an issue, but as you are someone who has set himself up as a skilled story writer, I expect more from you. This doesn't fill me with optimism for your story.

    But, nevertheless, I wish you well on your massive undertaking, and as a huge BG fan, hope it turns out well.

    BG3 mod for NWN, i loved the BG series so any further continuation of this series would be awesome,

    however i think, and im probably not alone, but it just doesnt feel like BG without Minsc, so would Minsc be reappearing? and which other NPCs from the series would be returning?

    Yeah what Caldera said(though it seems moot now because this thread is only another "Hey I have an awesome epic comparable to BG II I am working on! I will post a few tidbits about my awesome plans here and there until I lose interest in my own planning and vanish from these boards..." thread).

    I am also the last person to be a grammar Nazi(with all the typos I sometimes make) but when you come here proclaiming to be a gifted writer and then cannot spell "abilities"(as well as making a dozen other grammatical errors), I become skeptical.
    And that is saying nothing of the quality(or lack thereof) of the plot synopsis offered.

    I'm a bit worried how a ToB follow-up will turn out. I mean, you're already way epic and have companions that are no less powerful, so together you're among the strongest organizations on Faerun - heck, you could give the real Twisted Rune a run for their money, or decide to have a tete-a-tete with the Night King and live to tell the tale.

    So either the campaign must be one of cosmic proportions, or there should be a very hefty level drain involved. Perhaps it would mean a powerful undead, perhaps a prolonged trip to the Negative or the Shadow plane, something of that sort. Still, it should affect all your companions - chances are that even after you part (as the BGII epilogue implies), you're close enough to many of them so that you can call on them if something like that happens.

    The thing is, ToB essentially seals the Bhaalspawn saga. There are no more Bhaalspawns left, the "taint" is either sealed (though that offers possibilities) or within your deific nature, and you're already a thing of legend. Anything else might occur within the Realms is another chapter in its history entirely.

    Hello and good days,

    I have a suggestion for you

    First of all stick with DnD rules but not DnD 2. Use DnD 3.5

    Now to the story...

    You are a god now. And many gods will be questioning you abilities right? especially that sinister cyric.

    You can design a story about ultimate power. A story based on killing all the gods and feeding on their essances. You can add God Feats and spells if you like it is your creativeness that will make these nice enough.

    You will encounter armies of God Followers so it is like a rabbit hunt and will bea wonderful thing to play.

    You can add conspiracies too. Kill the stupid god who controls the abbys irenicus went to and make a deal with him. Kill the seldarine and offer their essance to Irenicus or the essance of the tree whatever you like.

    So do you like it you can guess the rest

    It will be like augustus getting rid of the senate
    many gods controlling and influencing many things the hell with it stripe them all from their powers and rule everything.

    well... i don't know a lot about the gods of DnD, but i do recal a guy called Ao who is like an Uber god, that doesent really like gods killing other gods much
    and i also think he would have the power to kill you instantly, also the god of murder is a fairly weak one IIRC
