Why don't I heal

    I would guess you have no magic healing ability, so all your healing is of the natural variety, and that takes time.

    There's a game option to 'rest until healed', but be prepared for long resting times! :)

    Carry scrolls of healing, or potions around with you, then you can use them for healing. Don't forget you can always use your special abilities (depending on your alignment anyway) up until a certain point in the game.

    On a related note, how does "healing spells cast on rest" work - I've noticed I've been getting healed without losing the spells from Jahera/Vix - am I playing on a wimpish setting or am I losing time?

    You've probably slept 16 hours - eight hours to get healing spells and heal everyone, and eight hours to restore your party to full magic.

    You simply rest for 8 hours and all of the spells left in your repetioure are used.
    So if viccy had 2 light healing spells left then they would be automatically used up when you rested.

    Presumably you automatically cast any healing spells you have left before you sleep, then if you need more healing, your healers can automatically memorize all the required healing spells, rest 8 hours, cast them to heal you, relearn the spells you selected, then rest 8 hours again (total 16 hours). If the spells you had memorized were enough to heal you before resting, then they just rememorize the spells you had selected.

    There are a lot of greater healing potions hidden in the Irenicus Dungeon and other early in game places. Don't be afraid to use them up. You can also buy healing potions in stores and temples.
